I love Carnations, but they're small and very three dimensional, so comparatively hard to photograph (as compared to, say, a rose). One has to get close so one gets a small depth of field. Also I love the background color of the leaves.

Carnations 

Light red carnations represent admiration,

while dark red denote deep love and affection.

White carnations represent pure love and good luck,

while striped (variegated) carnations symbolise regret that a love cannot be shared.

But for me...

Carnations are my love..
