OOOHHH poor sweet baby Lux... 😭😭😭 he is only 3 apples tall.... SO many questions after that last post. What are Megs' feelings towards baby Lux? Does he have a stronger attachment as his carrier? Does Lux, when he's grown, harbor any guilt or strong feelings about Rodimus not being ready for him? 🤔 the dynamics... spinning these guys around in my mind microwave thinking about them...

Lux harbours a lot of resentment against Rodimus for not only how he was raised, but for what Rodimus did after Megatron died.

Many years after they lose touch, Rodimus returns to Cybertron with a new family and attends a gala, and runs into none other than his forgotten son, the Emperor Lux. Immediately, Lucky pieces together who Rodimus is surrounded by, and heated words are exchanged. Feelings are hurt, and their relationship continues to fall apart.

Inquiring minds demand to know:

Would Lux work at Taco Bell?

He made an excellent captain of the Lost Light in Rod’s absence so he has patience for endless shenanigans but I think even 5 minutes behind the counter at a Taco Bell would put him in a fucking mental ward

Is there any hope that Lux will forgive Rodimus some day? It's so sad seeing them like this after all the went through :'(

Unfortunately the two never really heal.

After Megatron’s death, Lux took over Captaincy of the Lost Light and tried desperately to move on from Rodimus’ absence. He grew into his own mech, and became close with the crew. They filled the void in his spark that ached for family, and he focused all his efforts on learning as much as he could about his people and their past.

It was a perfect distraction, but he never forgot. The pain festered deep in his spark for many, many years.

Rodimus moved on all too well though, and started a new family far away. Sometimes, days would go by before he remembered he even had another son, another life.

When they meet again many years later, Lux has outgrown his father entirely. He never forgives Rodimus, because he can never forget what he did. It’s a turbulent thing, their relationship. They never see eye to eye, and Lux is increasingly exasperated by his father’s brash attitude and his inability to so much as mention Megatron’s name or take accountability for leaving.

Rodimus only sees Megatron when he looks at Lux. So much so, that he fails to see any of himself in him. He fails Lux as a father time and time again, and their similarities only cause them more trouble.

I didn't really mean in the case of being carried by Rodimus, though I guess it makes more sense that a bot would be resistant only in the constant exposure of an outlier during gestation. I was thinking more on X-Men rules where if two mutants are related usually their mutations aren't effective against each other.

Very interesting to think that a Lux carried by Rodimus would be somewhat different than the Lux we know...

I think with bio-mechanical organisms it’s kind of a grey area when it comes to fandom concepts of reproduction. Everyone has their own idea of how ‘genetics’ and ‘gestation’ might work.

For me, I imagine the mech who carries typically shares the most of their coding with the offspring. But then I also imagine certain ‘subspecies’ of mechs just have far stronger coding.

For example I typically imagine seekers as having very powerful coding, and being able to produce almost purely seeker offspring with most other frame types (they’re just weird about mixing coding anyway though).

Lux might have been smaller had Rodimus been able to carry (or wanted to at all. That mech would find carrying kind of gross and icky lmao). Maybe he would have had a fire-related outlier, maybe he wouldn’t have. I don’t know that outlier abilities operate at all in the same way as X-Men mutations, I just have my own concepts of how things work swirling in my brain.

Rodimus certainly does sire a child with a fire outlier very soon though 🤠

(Also sidebar but that X-Men thing sounds like it was just written as plot armour for certain interactions between characters or as a way to hint at characters being related. I haven’t really consumed enough X-Men content to even know that was a thing, but yeah I don’t personally use Mutant Genetics when I think about my robot guys)
