I have now finished Quantum Leap book 1: Carny Knowledge in both senses of the word. Finished reading it and finished editing the epub!
Book review: A++++ I absolutely love it. My only nitpick is with Tina's character (more specifically how she talks) because it doesn't fit with the Tina we saw at the beginning of Genesis which is the most recent incarnation of her I've seen, but also to be completely and honestly fair I literally don't know if you had the ability to rewatch a TV show in 1997 lol. And also I don't remember but they probably changed Tina's design down the line assuming she made an appearance in the S4 premier that I forgot about.
So yeah I love Tina and my only nitpick is she doesn't match the Tina I just saw on Genesis but. Who knows. Maybe Sam changed the past enough that Tina no longer exists...

Chapter 16 is like "hey you know that fic you're writing where Sam actually gets to react like a human being to all these ridiculously traumatic events from? Yeah. Same. Here, let's give Sam a panic attack from that specific combo of episodes you yourself were referencing! :)"

Towards the end of chapter fifteen, after the sentence "Maybe Ziggy was changing itself. And in that case they were in real trouble."
The next scene (it's a flashback) has some detailed descriptions of blood and injury from a work saw accident.
To skip the injury description, skip to the line "Ambulances. Sirens. Noise. Tears. Shouting." And you can continue reading the last page from there.
Don't know the page numbers off the top of my head (reading the half edited epub versions), but I'll check tomorrow on the PDF to list the relevant page numbers.

The hair streak didn't show up til later (or at least. I don't think I noticed it at all in s1? Something to look out for in for the rewatch...)
But uh. The author giving Sam Mad Scientist vibes is definitely fun fun choice.
