no like literally, "girl"/"good girl" are street names for cocaine distinctively. if he hadn't said those exact words I would be much less likely to believe carolina is A) about drugs in the first place and B) about coke specifically.
obviously not every song that says “girl” is about coke haha!!! but in context with the rest of the lyrics it’s quite blatant to me (and I’m assuming others with experience as well(
No, it’s really not blatant to others with experience (I presume you mean of drugs).
Harry writes a song about a girl who comes from Carolina, whose family is still there, who's a long way from home, whose grandma told her to move to the city even though she doesn’t seem like a West Coaster, who has a book for every occasion, who can drink anything and get into any party, who makes him feel so good…and you think that it’s more likely that he’s using the words “girl” and “good girl” to refer to cocaine than to a woman?
Harry has cleverly worded the entire song so that every single line can be interpreted to be about a girl - including a full, and one might say unnecessary, backstory for her - as a metaphor for how good coke makes him feel and how he can’t stop thinking about it?
As I’ve said about 10 times now I think that’s an enormous reach and I’ve yet to read a single interpretation that gives me any reason to think that it’s more likely that Harry Styles has written a a feelgood ode to addiction and the joy of cocaine, than about an infatuation with a girl.

working the hours they did, vladi sometimes found it difficult to find time for just him and carolina. the free time they did have was mostly spent on their daughter, not that he minded, but the rare break here and there was nice. thankfully, they had friends and family willing to babysit. waking up after a quick nap, he pressed a kiss to his wife’s shoulder before glancing down at her. ❝ so, what do you want to do tonight ?? go out or stay in and i can cook something ?? ❞
LOCATION: Crabbe Mansion DATE: evening, 3 october 1979 AVAILABILITY: for @xxcrabbe
There’s a stillness to the Crabbe house that seemingly mirrors the rest of wizarding London. “What do you think happened?” It’s a plaintive question, barely more than a whisper. Like it’s a wake. She just doesn’t know for who. If the world outside stopped spinning, would they know? Or would it stitch itself back together, reconstitution itself, before she leaves?
She shifts in her chair, resists the urge to fidget with the hem of her robes, and straightens herself. A bad situation does not justify bad posture. She doesn’t know what makes sense and what doesn’t – not the first time she’s felt it, but it’s unnerving to have witnessed so many others sharing that sentiment over the past few days. “He can’t be gone, can he?”
