She didn't know why she came. It was stupid in hindsight, wasn't it? Noemi didn't like parties, and without any kind of substance to keep her occupied, everything was too loud: the music echoing off the walls, people trying to talk over it. She could practically feel every gulp, laugh, and movement made inside. Outside was no better with just as many people clustered together smoking or getting fresh air.
Realistically, they were waiting for Aidan to spot them and kick them out — but they had an inkling of a feeling that he probably wouldn't have even recognized them if he did happen to locate them. Her current place of solace was the indoor pool, the one place it didn't seem like anybody was congregating yet. They just wondered how long before one of the BRO's spotted it and decided to cannonball.
"Hey," she muttered when someone came into view. Gabe. Her... squid in shining armor, who was considerate enough to bring Noemi as a plus-one. She had her feet dipped in the deep end of the pool, eyes hyperfocused on them, kicking them back and forth gently. "Saved you a seat," she said, patting the slab next to her.
any relationships you'd really like to see happen?
for purely entertainment purposes? goldie and brooks, without question. watching the two dumbest people i've ever encountered stand there telling each other #exactly while simultaneously misunderstanding the same conversation would heal something inside me. brooks strikes me as the type to accidentally flirt with literally everyone because he has the social awareness of a dog. goldie, however… #mamadontplay that girl would launch the atomic bomb over somebody saying, "hey, brooks!" in the hallway. saint rivera would become a crater by the third class of the day. #nationalsecuritythreat
i've already spoken on this once, but i'll happily say it again: cece and stella. i'm going full #yuri for those two. i don't want sunshine and rainbows. i want yearning so intense it ruins both of their academic careers. i want six months of aggressively denying feelings. i want unnecessary arguments fueled entirely by poor communication. i want one of them to storm off dramatically while the other stands there pretending not to care. healthy relationships are beautiful. however… my favorite relationships are always deeply concerning. #toxicwlw
respectfully… SYDNEY AND MILO! i've seen enough. put them in a room together. make them accidentally brush hands. have one of them say "good game, man" and linger half a second too long. i'll do the rest. i've already got ao3 open and i'm halfway through outlining chapter one in my head. you can't stop me now. break the stereotypes. hold hands after practice. share a milkshake. realize you've been in love for three months and everybody else noticed before you did. google, show me these guys' b- #justonelockerroomscene
now, just for shits and giggles, this is my #rapidfire list. cece and august, but i imagine only for like a one-week fling — they'd throw the school out of balance too much. abilene and a white claw, or really any alcohol, i need to see how the #godgirl let's loose! i'd like to see gabe and a normal human interaction for once. and lastly, glee club 🤝 winning anything at all.
TEXTS 📲 THE WILDES.
ZACH: I need to see all of you. ASAP. ZACH: Wilde group hug is an IMMEDIATE NEED. ZACH: AND DON'T SAY NO BECAUSE I'M TIRED OF CRYING. @gabewildepsu @abigailwildes @mir-iamwilde
my friends are SO FUCKING COOL
a sharp sniff and then the rattling of keys in the door lock signals gabe's arrival. "you boys done in here?" he calls through the wood, sticking his head in as he pushes it open to survey the scene. "i'm ready to take out the trash."
@theknifeinyou liked this for a random horror starter!
when — may 22 where — water treatment plant who — @gabe-reyes
A classic Volkov skill is interrogation. An art taught through observation first, watching monstrous father make tiny humans out of burly men through cleverly placed words. Like adding pressure on the brain, right in the sore spots, until someone gives in. Daiyu has never been very good at it — it’s something she’s berated for, something she’s excluded from. Which is to say: her father doesn’t want her asking their subjects questions, he only wants her to maim them. He looks at his youngest and knows she’s no good at psychological warfare ( not even the perfect pawn for it ) but so very good at all other kinds of war crimes, if pushed hard enough. He loves her best when coated in blood, which is to say he doesn’t love her at all.
But then, take this situation. A man, wounded. A dark water plant, with no way out. His body littered with man-made wounds that insinuate that there’s someone after him, which might be the biggest issue. Here’s what Daiyu wants: to just see him healed and to not think of him. Here’s what she knows what needs to happen: risk-assessment through questioning and, if necessary, eliminate that threat.
She really does not want to do any of it. The dark presses at the sides of her vision, even with the sharp light of flashlights moving around, and it’s too much like punishment. Too much like the basement. To be literally shut in somewhere, not by the hand of an enforcer or her father, somehow feels bad all the same. Some people believe in God, don’t they? Maybe this is that God punishing them: just another flood meant to cleanse the earth. It would be so easy to believe in such things, but Daiyu doesn’t. Daiyu just knows she can’t show up with a random hurt dude with no idea who he is, if they’re ever to get out of here.
So, she crouches down. Suri lingers somewhere in the background, that inexplicable spark of a girl that Daiyu cannot begin to understand. There’s a gesture at one of his wounds, a mild threat of digging her fingers through the bandage into marred skin. In stead she extends a half-full water bottle. “So, who’s got it out for you? This shit’s fresh, so is anyone gonna come knocking for you?” Might be a blessing in disguise, if they can get the door open. Daiyu would prefer fighting an intruder over this. “More importantly: why are you here?”
