Pizza with Friends
Pizza with Friends
When I got up this morning I was already a bit nervous toward the idea of going on a date. It was perfect though, I mean...my first real date with a guy I am interested in and that date is going to watch the awesomeness of Avengers 2! It couldn't have been any more awesome! But we will get to the date later. So much had gone on yesterday that I have decided to post two entries to cover it all.
I had gotten a text from Carrie who was using Fuji's phone. They wanted to meet up in the city for coffee. I was so excited to do this! I mean...I had zero friends that were girls, okay...so Lenny isn't the typical guy. Teasing, no, he was over the top and a bit perverted from time to time. Sick jokes, inappropriate comments and flirtations. He was a handful.
Anyway! So I went to the coffee shop, meeting them there. We talked quite a bit. It was great to see that Fuji could speak with her own voice instead of having to use the mic that was made for her. Her throat was healing up, awesome news. Her and Carrie were doing well, which was good to know. Fuji talked about working on a project, which I could only guess was the one that Donatello had told me about. The jetpack! I wanted to ask about it, but somehow...the subject turned on me and the date I was going to be on that night. Both of them were excited over the idea that Casey and I could become more then friends. Both of them stating that they believed that Casey was into me. That's when my insecurities had jumped in and I told them what I had been told many times.
Fuji told me that our stories of high school were not all that different. It was so odd being able to sit with someone who knew what it was like to be the 'freak' of the class. I listened to her and Carrie as they told me that it was okay to feel nervous. I wanted to take this slow with Casey and get to know him more before we took on the idea of being 'an item'. There was just something about him that made me want to try to see if there was something there between us. Fuji and Carrie seemed to believe that this was possible.
I had to excuse myself from the table for a short time needing to adjust or take out my contacts...one of them was bothering me. Turned out it was an easy fix and I didn't need to take them out. Just put eye drops in my eyes, I think they were dried out on the drive over, not having eye wear.
Anyway, this lead to stories of contacts slipping into the back of my head...and someone having an eyeball laying on their chest during an operation. Don't ask.
After the girl talk, we went across the street to a back alley were we met up with Donatello and Raphael. Fuji had gone to the pizzeria close by, so I had the pleasure of giving the Hamato brothers their drinks. Donatello with coffee and Raphael had his tea.
Food and drink was bought by Fuji.
The brothers were doing well, was good to see them, I brought up Avengers 2 and we started to talk about the camera hat that Donatello had made. But Slim also had send me a link on my phone which I became distracted with. It was a video from the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, which was awesome cause I love watching his shows and challenges. Anyway this one was amazing it was Ed Sheeran singing a parody to one of his own songs as Hawkeye. I recommend that you watch it.
Anyway, Fuji showed up with the pizza as the others started to talk about horror movies. I pretty much stayed out of it...not being a fan of horror movies myself. You would think differently knowing that I watch X-files, Supernatural and other shows like it. But...horror movies are much different...there is more effort put into the horror in the movies and it is constant, there is no real break from it through the movie like there is a TV show...unless it is a TVShow like Walking Dead...or one based solely on the idea of scaring you.
And forget about movies that have bugs in it! Especially spiders! No. Thank. You.
One movie that put me off horror movies was John Carpenters: The Thing. My god...that movie scared the life out of me! Lenny had me watch it and I never forgave him since. It was messed up! Even have a small fear of huskies after that. Anyway, they were talking about all these movies I have not, nor will ever want to see. Up until they started to talk about Disney and musicals, apparently that is the type of movie that disturbs Raphael. Which wasn't a big surprise. I was half temped to start singing a few songs. I sang many of them in choir. But I thought better of it.
Fuji mentioned the movie Tucker and Dale vs Evil! I loved that movie! It was so funny! I was able to watch passed the slasher aspect of it cause it was just so funny. It was much like a spoof to your typical out in the woods horror movies. I watched it cause Alan Tyduk was in it. He was so hilarious! Fuji told me that they were making a second one! I am so there. :D Same cast and everything!
I had text Casey earlier as we were all talking asking if he had gotten his costume. Got a reply saying that it was all good. That he had painted a nerf bow. I was so excited! I let him know I had gotten my costume months ago. This was what I was going to go as for Comic-con, Lenny was going to be Peter Quill. Though...I think my plans have changed and I will not be attending Comic-con with Lenny this year.
Especially after what happened a little later, when talk went from movies to some chemical that Donatello had found in the junkyard. I told them that some teenagers LARP in junkyards. I knew this because Lenny had done just that, middle of the night, break into the junkyard and start battling each other like morons. I had told him so many times that he was going to either get caught...or seriously hurt. Donatello and Raphael agreed that it was a idiotic thing to do.
In fact Raphael wanted to tell Lenny how stupid he was, so I dialed him up and Raphael went to town. It was one of the most entertaining moments ever! Raphael was so good at it and it just caused Lenny to get all the more frustrated. Having no idea who it was. Though...he had asked if it was me a few times...calling me by my middle name like he did some times. Lee...really? He couldn't tell that it wasn't me? My voice is so high and squeaky....how in the world could he think Raphael was me?
Idiot.
I felt a little silly though as he was yelling over the phone at Raphael...cause this guy was once my friend. In a way...still was...we communicate through e-mail. I had to wonder what they thought of me having a friend as dimwitted as Lenny. They all said they didn't like him. Truth be told, I didn't care for the way he was...why nothing ever happened between us...but he was the only one that I felt I could be around, he had the same interests I did. We did a lot of things together. But he was a perverted moron.
Guess I really didn't want to be alone...enough that I had made friends with Lenny.
Hearing Raphael insult him...I had wanted to say these things myself. But I wasn't good at it. I most likely would have been laughed at...anyway, it was a real eye opener to me. Not to mention entertaining!
Wasn't long after that, that I decided to take my leave, needed to go get ready for the big night. I thanked Fuji for the coffee and pizza, wishing them well and took off to get ready.
(To be continued. Next entry.)
