Carrier Command 2 will give you direct control in battle
Carrier Command 2 real time strategy puts you in command in 2021 via Mac and Windows PC and even Linux. Thanks to recent details from developer Geometa. Due to get a release on Steam in Spring 2021. Recently, news of the Carrier Command 2 release landed in my email. Which is an interesting looking release that puts players in command of a futuristic carrier. Since your mission is simple: simple to conquer the isles of the Archipelago. The process of making the most of the combined arms that you have on board. This is what Carrier Command players of the '80s are already used too. Likewise, this is what publisher MicroProse is due to help bring back in this modern and ambitious remake. Which will be available as a single-player, online PvP, online co-op and cross platform multiplayer. Never the less, Carrier Command 2 caught my attention. However, MicroProse goes on to explain the plan.
As for Linux support, the game will work flawlessly on Wine and Proton. In fact, Stormworks (a recent very successful game from the same developer) performs perfectly on those. Carrier Command 2 is being developed on a proprietary engine.
To be honest, a proprietary engine for Carrier Command 2 is no surprise. And support for the Stormworks game is at a Gold level on ProtonDB. That being said, MicroProse goes on to explain "a native Linux version is being considered". So there is still hope for the native Linux build. That being said, Proton support for Carrier Command 2 should be interesting.
What to expect in Gameplay:
Gameplay will have players focus on strategy, planning and Teamwork. Since this will deliver a scale that is both engaging and manageable. True to MicroProse's heritage, Carrier Command 2 is all about ket choices.
Strategize: Gather intel from your vehicles’ radars. Then pick your tools of the trade. Launching your attacks where the enemy is weaker. The approach you take to a situation will play a big part in the outcome.
Plan: Once you take an island you will need to exploit and defend those resources. Making sure these supply lines remain open. Hence the key to your survival. So be sure to think ahead.
Teamwork: Make the most of different units to create a combined arms assaults to win battles. On top of that, get into each and every vehicle and take part in the action. Lead from the front!
The story of Carrier Command 2 takes place in the near future. Since humanity’s hunger for mineral resources and fossil fuel has increased. As a result, a newly discovered chain of islands offers a surplus of both. But this also comes to whoever can take control of the islands first.
Carrier Command 2 Trailer by MicroProse
Your mission: Command a mighty carrier ship and multi role aircraft. Along with aquatic tanks, drones and more. While you build a secure network of bases within the island. Every step of the way, you will be competing against rival AI or human carrier commanders. These technical capabilities are a match of your own. Since they are every bit as determined to succeed as yourself. Likewise, they have no qualms about blowing you out of the water. Success or failure will come down to not just superior overall strategy. But also the chance to turn the tide of the battle. As you assuming direct control of individual vehicles to defend your bases. Or maybe stage a direct attack on your enemy. Winning combination Carrier Command 2 combines deep real time strategy with detailed vehicle simulation. This also allows the players to choose exactly how and where they focus their attention. This unique blend of gameplay certainly makes for a huge amount of replayability.
