“we’re alone now, you could kiss me.” reverse
His initial reaction was one of pure confusion. He wasn't accustomed to such directness. His brows furrowed as he searched for the right words to respond, but he managed to handle the situation gracefully. He took a moment to collect his thoughts before responding.
"Thank you for your candor," he replied with a gentle smile, his voice steady and composed. "But I value our friendship too much to let it change."
Candor... Oh, if he only knew the extent of such candor, he'd find a better term for it. Yet, Popshi bites his lips, brows knitting as he hears the clear rejection the other delivered upon him.
Well then, what was he failing at, he had to wonder? Was he just not the lord's type? Could there be an underlying cause? Might it be just that he could sense the ancient dark in him? Ah, so many questions, so little desire to actually discover it. A rejection was a rejection, anyway!
"Ah, they weren't lying when they said you are good with words, my lord. But I know what you mean... You'd rather not risk being anything too serious with someone like me and it is understandable! Albeit a little disappointing..." A sigh comes out and he resigns himself to nod.
"Worry not, I shall leave you at peace... for today. But allow me to remind you: a kiss means nothing when it is a witch you are delivering it to. Especially one Branded with a most atrocious mark. You could not be entrapped by something bereft of value, my lord. Just know the offer is still there, while we're alone." And just like that, his demeanor grows bright and he winks over at the man.
"Come on, one on the cheek then-- Oh! Wait, forget that! I said I would stop trying for the day..." A pause, a shrug. "I lied," and he was back to leaning over to deliver a kiss... on the cheek, this time.
@carrotsaversion sent : 🌹"Clive, I found this beautiful rose on my way back," he began, extending the flower towards his brother. "I thought it would be a lovely gesture if you gave it to Jill, as a symbol of your affection for her." send ‘🌹’ to give roses to my muse for their reaction. || Accepting
Clive blinked in surprise as Joshua came in, foisting a rather exquisite looking rose into his face. It took him a moment or two to process what it was his brother had said, slowly pushing himself up from his seat and taking the rose by the stem as it was offered. "It's certainly beautiful, but..." He started, only to have his face start to redden, glancing at his brother carefully. "...Is it so obvious?" Regardless of the answer, his attention returned to the rose at hand, gently spinning it to see how the petals shifted in the breeze.
"That's not a bad idea...but not alone." His other hand went to his face, pressing his thumb to the underside of his chin and tapping his curled index finger against his lip. "No, it should be with something else." His brow furrowed in thought before a smile began to curl his lips. "Moonlillies, I think. White and red." And with a chuckle. "The Moon and Metia."
Suddenly, Clive was looking up at his brother with a wide smile. Reaching out, he clapped him on the shoulder, squeezing down and even shaking him a bit! "Thank you, but, wherever did you pick up such ideas, Joshua? Is there someone I should know about?"

Small footsteps are heard pacing back and forth within Joshua's, formally, silent haven.
"JERRYY. Come out, come out wherever you areee!" dropping to her knees, she peers underneath the iron bed frame, catching a pair of feet disappearing further down the rows of beds.
With an evil smile stretching on her lips, Rikku turns her usual loud stomps into sloppy, mildly boisterous tip-toes towards the general area she witnessed his boots lift. "You can't hide from me foreeeeever..."
Stopping at the end of his mattress, she finds a rather large lump in the sheets. She bends forward, hands curling around the fabric, then tears away the bedding in a quick jerking motion.

the smell of something burning is in the air, and veronika drops her arms from her face as the wind dies down. she takes a deep breath - she had her fair share of chance encounters & unfriendly beasts ever since she left the university, but they always somehow manage to catch her off guard. one, two, three deep breaths, she coughs ( annoying, she hasn’t had an attack in months & right now is really not the time ) before rising to her feet. the dirt stirs under her shoes as she scrambles to his side.
" YOU'RE BLEEDING, RIGHT? let me see, " she pauses, " i don't want your brother taking my head, now. i've only lived twenty odd years. ( ... ) thank you, by the way, i'd be dead if not for you. "

"I should thank you for allowing my company." The trek's only just begun, the road stretched out fully before them and only the first of steps taken. The matter's a small affair, expected to take not but a few days, though he welcomes the distraction. Here Dion's in motion, acting, rather than idling. "I realize that I am not your brother, but I shall aid in any capacity I may."

Blood practically gushed from the wound. A sword slash that started near his right shoulder and ended near his navel. Clive had dropped to the ground after a few shambling steps away from his foe. He dropped his sword, his arm suddenly unable to support the weight of it. He fell onto his knees and then face down. Blood stained the ground beneath him and he choked. The pain was so severe that it stole his voice. Alarms rang in his entire body.
He had been mortally wounded. That was all there was to it. He had always known he would fall in battle, but he didn't want it to be now. There was too much left undone. His foe had moved on, likely thinking him dead. Probably not entirely wrong either.
He tried to move, to crawl to his sword. Anything he could use to force himself to his feet. But he couldn't. His body refused to listen to his orders. Time seemed to move slowly. He didn't know how long he stayed like that. Still, in pain, and bleeding.
Until someone started to move him. Clive practically howled in pain as he was turned onto his back. His entire body shook and he could finally see the sheer amount of blood pouring from his body. He couldn't catch his breath and he suddenly felt bile rising in his throat. He started to vomit, bile and blood mixing together but he forced himself to swallow it.
Joshua's voice... He blinked again and again... Trying to clear his vision enough to see his brother. His blood-soaked left-hand grips the fabric of Joshua's shirt meagerly. He was holding him in his arms.
He tries to speak, but he can only gasp and groan in pain. His blue eyes were glassy and nearly entirely empty. He cannot focus his eyes. He cannot move. He can barely breathe. The pain is unbearable.
He knew Joshua would try to heal him. He almost begs him not to. Joshua's health was volatile. He had to keep himself safe. Still, he didn't want to die yet... But Joshua suffering was even more unbearable.
"Joshua...." He chokes on his own blood. "I... I'm..." He can't even finish his thought. He just clings to his brother. At the very least... As long as Joshua is safe... It's okay.
"Huh? What did you say?" //also hello o/
"Well, that answered my question," Kat chuckled. "I said I think we should rest for the night, you must be exhausted from traveling all day."
Of course, she was used to traveling for days at a time but she was basically trained to, it wouldn't be fair to have him try to keep pace with her when he couldn't even focus on her question.
