Let's talk about Wayward Son (SPOILERS AHEAD)

I can't believe how many of you guys are disappointed by the book, I think it's amazing honestly! Yes, they do need to talk and figure stuff out, and they will, whenever the next book comes out, but for now we get to see them for exactly what they are - nervous wrecks, teenagers that went through so much trauma and are now trying (and failing) to work things out. You can't expect a happy lovey-dovey SnowBaz for 350 pages, not after what they went through!

Yes, it seems like 350 pages are a lot and there should've been some actual talk between them, I agree, but also, that was a week in the timeline! A week of fighting vampires and getting captured by dragons and stuff! Also, healing takes time, Simon is obviously not ready to talk to hinself about how he's feeling, what he's feeling, you can't expect him to talk to Baz about it.

And yes, Simon Snow is depressed and going through a lot and media has shown us again and again how "true love can fix this" but what they fail to mention most of the time is how hard it is to actually talk about what's going on inside your head through that time. He needs time, they all do, and I'm willing to wait for the next book to see what it has to offer.

I think this book captured stuff so so well, it spoke to me on a personal level multiple times, through multiple characters. I think what people fail to realise is that Carry On was a lighter book, the first book in a series is always lighter to ease you into the world and the characters, but as the years go by between the books, character change. Not only that, but the authors perspective changes. This is no longer a book simply about magic and vampires and Simon and Baz, it's a book about trauma and depression and how things aren't always perfect. We need books like that.

What we get here, Simon and Baz wise, is that depression can put a strain in your relationships with people, and that's true. There's no "I love him so I'll forget I'm depressed and go out on a date". No, some days you just can't get up and can't go shower and all you can think about is how much of a bother you are and how no one should have to put up with you. That's depression. And I don't think I've read another book showing it as clearly as this one has.

Hearing you guys say how disappointed you are honestly makes me sad cuz I don't think you see the book for what it actually is.

I don't know if I make much sense it's 7am and I stayed up to finish the book, I'll go to bed now and if there are any mistakes or I think of something else I'll edit tomorrow

I read Carry On and OMG you're right, D/s verses have been ruined completely for me!!!! As a sub myself, I definitely identified with Dean, and was so jealous that he found his perfect Dom >///<

I dont even know what to tell you Cause i am still hurting from that story….God…it was like an emotional TORTURE for me God….Cas God…..Dean….those two and their need for each other and how it was expressed and how gentle cas was and UGH!!…I DONT HAVE WORDS OKAY! I loved that fic…like i loved it And i cant even bear how much i loved it I loved it so much i hated it Cause IT HAD A HAPPY ENDING AND YET IT HURT SO MUCH How is that even possible
