Jack O'Connell's characters having X-Men Mutations
Paddy Mayne could have... retractable bone claws, a regenerative factor, and hyper-developed senses like... Wolverine.
i feel that if you put paddy mayne in the marvel universe, he'd be the perfect candidate for the weapon x project; and if you brought logan to real life, he definitely would have been recruited by david stirling to found the sas. it makes a lot of sense when you think about it: both have a considerable, absolute rejection of rules and authority, are bloodthirsty ferocious in combat, have ghosts from the past that haunt them and a deep melancholy they still can't resolve, and both are difficult to kill (wolverine is basically and generally immortal, while paddy gives the impression of being indestructible due to his insane efficiency in moving through bullets and not dying, as if he were immune to fear and danger). so yeah.
Patrick Sumner could have... anthropoid/ape physique, superhuman strength and agility like... Beast.
both are brilliant minds surrounded by pure brutality, conflicted by reason versus animal instinct, oscillating between the two. hank mccoy lives in fear of losing his humanity, that his mutation will consume his intelligence and turn him into an uncontrolled wild animal, while patrick is forced to abandon his manners and medical ethics, resorting to violent survival instincts to avoid freezing to death or being murdered. like hank, patrick fights to avoid becoming a monster. in a way, they both share an addiction/self-medication as an escape. patrick has a severe laudanum addiction, while hank spends his life designing and consuming serums in an attempt to reverse his mutant nature.
Sir Jimmy Crystal could have... the ability to create exact duplicates of himself through physical impact or by snapping his fingers like... Multiple Man.
i can imagine that being the leader of a sect he would loooove to be able to multiply himself, in fact he wouldn't even need a sect, he himself would be his own sect. and yeah, he would probably dress each one up as a teletubbie. that's all.
Lion Kaminski could have large, feathered wings, hollow bones, and an aerial-adapted body like... Angel.
i'm not gonna lie, there aren't many parallels between the character of angel and lion kaminski (except that i've seen them both in the ring), but when i imagined lion with those colossal wings, something inside me did a backflip, and that's when i knew... exactly what lion's muscular back would look like adorned with two large, pristine white wings that he would use to escape from stan and the world when he felt overwhelmed. i can also imagine how he always tries to hide them, ashamed of not being like the rest, until something makes him wake up and fully unfurl them in all their splendor, breaking the harness that held them in place just like angel in xmen: the last stand. and guys, i want to say one thing ☝🏻 i'm gonna cum.
James Cook could have super speed; which includes extreme reflexes and a cellular structure adapted to withstand friction and impact force like... Quicksilver.
quickie's mutation makes him live life at a thousand miles an hour; he can't stay still like my lovely LOVELY boy cook. he doesn't have a mutation, but his brain works at a frenetic pace fueled by drugs and alcohol, so i can see him as a speedster. both of my favorite guys are uncontrollable and maladjusted; it's as if no one has the patience to understand what's going on inside them. they're both selfish and break codes and rules, yet when danger is real, they both demonstrate immense loyalty to the people they love, risking their own lives and accepting the worst consequences completely selflessly (like cook avenging freddie, and as we also saw cook in skins rise). and as if this weren't enough, they also share the archetype of the clownish, sarcastic, chaotic, and conceited character who is deeply broken inside. they both deal with the absence of their parents, their attitudes being defense mechanisms against their parental issues.

James Cook could have the psionic ability to manipulate and shape existing fire like... Pyro.
i could also think of cook as pyro. both are arrogant, provocative, and cocky, though this cockiness is a shield to prevent anyone from discovering how deeply lonely and scared they're inside. i just think that if cook had had this mutation, magneto wouldn't have even had to convince him: cook would have burned down the x-mansion just for fun before anyone could encourage him.
i didn't put this one first because i didn't find that many parallels and because of a slight issue of favoritism (quicksilver is my bitch).
Roy Goode could have hellfire summoning, ghost horse (infuses hellfire into his horse, allowing him to travel at extreme speeds and leave a trail of flames), superhuman strength and durability, and intangibility like... Carter Slade.
i know carter slade isn't a mutant, okay? that's why he's part of a bonus track, because in this sector i do what i want! i let my mind wander and couldn't help but see carter slade in roy goode's eyes, and this is my favorite parallel and moodboard, i'm not going to lie to you (that's why i left it for last lol). i need this to happen.
their lethality is a last resort. roy prefers not to use weapons, he hates violence, regardless of his skill and the danger he poses with guns, while carter slade also doesn't boast of his power, only using it when necessary. carter slade's connection with his horse is more than special: it's not just a mount, it's an extension of himself that even transforms with him in hellfire while roy goode, on the other hand, has a gift with horses. roy calms, tames, and understands them. for both, their horses are a connection to nobility, far removed from the cruelty of men. the two become guardians and protectors of a town. given his contract, carter slade becomes the guardian of san venganza, while roy finds his redemption protecting and defending the town of la belle from frank griffin and his thugs. and like carter slade, roy rebels against his father figure (carter slade rebels against his "creator," mephistopheles) too. both characters perfectly embody the archetype of the gunslinger, the "horse charmer," and protectors of a small town, being men marked by the sin and violence of others. i can really see carter slade passing the legacy to roy goode so that he could find his destiny, becoming the next ghost rider in a future, a reluctant protector who walks between life and death across the desert.
