I haven't been happy with my art recently so as a practice and to get a better hand on self-improvement, I did some rough warnup sketches where I study the construction and poses of some character designs (a lot of which from my favorite artists) and use it as a practice to see how there drawn, executed and try to be influenced by them in my future work.
The ones that I'm particularly fond of are the poses by Stephen Silver, Craig McCracken, Ben Ballastreri and Carey Yost because of their fluidity and variety their body proportions possess, as well as trying to make them volumetric and streamlined at the same time. Also because I'm an anime nerd, I also tried studying poses from Shotaro Ishinomori, Tatsuo Yoshida and Rumiko Takahashi, which turned into a good result so far.
