So, contrary to what I said in the last post, this mix actually doesn't actually follow the group theme all too well.😅 He's spiky and has a tongue, sure, but at the same time, he could've had all of Spugg's and Boogly's legs and eyes, too! This is just an observation I made recently, though, as I didn't think of the Glowkies×Lixers mixes having a theme like that back when I built this mix.
The Turg and Globert mix will properly continue the theme, though! But you'll have to wait quite a while for that!
Last mix for this week is one between Camillot and Jinky!
This is probably the tallest mix I've ever built with its arms raised, at least. It's also giving Mixels Rush mix, but worh extra detail now that I look at it, lol. It's a simple one, but still a nice one!
Sorry that this post didn't come out on Friday! I got these mixes done a little later than planned!
This week, both mixes would be a combo of a Glowkie and a Lixer. Each member of this mix trio has a theme of having an excess amount of certain features alongside having a typical for a Lixer tongue. In this mix between Vampos and Tungster, it's the amount of wings, eyes, and teeth.
My Mixels posts don't end yet! I have made quite a few Lego mixes over the last couple of years, to the point that I have quite a backlog of them! So, by posting a couple each week, I hope that I can go through all of it this year! I'm starting with my earliest creations, obviously. As such, these mixes are gonna be quite simple. With that said, enjoy this Flamzer and Mixadel mix!
What better way to start a new year than with new characters! Those characters being mixels! I made a whole series worth of them, and today, I'll be sharing with you the first tribe! Stay tuned for the next one tomorrow!
More details, character descriptions, their Max, and original concept art are all under the cut! Read on, please!
Back in 2021, I had an idea for a fan-made Mixels Series 4 that continued in the same vein as the first 3 series and didn't start a new tribe format. I never ended up finishing those concepts, though, as I wasn't happy with them back then. Recently, however, spurred on by the wonderful OCs of a couple of people from ArtFight, I came back to the ideas I had back then, and, thinking about them, concluded that they were still good, and should become fully realized!
Before I continue, I should mention that the themes behind each tribe weren't chosen at random, but based on a pattern I found. It's a weak and most likely unintentional pattern, but a pattern nonetheless. One tribe of each series is the "flagship tribe", and also the one based on element. Those are the tribes that later got cousins: the Infernites, the Frosticons, and the Glorp Corp. Another tribe in a series represented a specific texture. Those tribes were: the Cragsters(hard), the Flexers(stretchy), and the Spikels(sharp). The last tribes of a series represented some kind of art form. Electroids represent light shows(flimsy, I know), the Fang Gang represent wood carving, and the Wiztastics represent magic shows.
With that in mind, this tribe, the Fuzzy Pals are supposed to fit into the second category representing the fuzzy texture.
The Fuzzy Pals are fluffy mixels, who look soft and cute, but no mixel would ever want to be their cuddle buddy once they find out how they treat others. They're meant to be polar opposites to the Spikels, and they're definitely the tribe they hate the most.
Let's go over the members one by one, shall we?
Pricklin(prickly+gremlin) is a very shy little mixel. Unlike his tribemates, he actually loves the company of others, and constantly yearns for it. He loves cuddling up to others, being hugged and treated like a baby. However, that might be an amazing experience for him, it almost never is for other mixels, as his horns are sharp and prickly, almost always hurting the mixels taking care of him. But that's not the worst of it, as he's also extremely clingy, never letting go of hugs, and throwing screaming and crying tantrums whenever a mixel stops giving attention to him. Pricklin is the biggest pushover of his tribe, which is why the others have appointed him the leader. The other two wanted to rid themselves of any potential interactions with other mixels this way, too.
Strrangel(squirrel+strangle) is a nerd/otaku kind of mixel. He acts like a typical edgy teen, saying that no one understands him and such. He's very antisocial, too, lashing out and strangling out anyone who disturbs his personal space for too long with his bushy tail. He's a fan of dark, creepy and messed up stuff, too. He loves tormenting Pricklin with scary stories he makes up. Despite his behavior, deep down he just wants to get to know someone who shares his interests.
Panch(panda+punch) is do something, think about it never kind of mixel. He's a dumb antisocial brute, who likes keeping mixels away with violence. He's rarely not pissed off at something, but a guaranteed way to make him calm down is to give him a good meal and let him have a nice hap. Although he's strong, he's still at odds with Strrangel, and knows not to mess with him and his powerful tail.
The Fuzzy Pals live in the Heartless Woods, a dark and scary forest full of dead trees. Most mixels are too afraid to even step foot in there.
Now it's time to see what the Fuzzy Pals look like when combined. Here's their Max!
Their bigfoot-like max is unrivaled in terms of stealth, never speaking, and barely making a sound! Perfect for avoiding any unwanted visitors! It's also plenty strong and can dispose of those visitors with ease, as well.
So, what do you think? The Fuzzy Pals were my strongest tribe idea from back in 2021, and required the least amount of changes, as you can see from this concept art! I'm quite proud of them!
This week, I'm showing off all the mixes that involve the Medivals. We're starting off with Cammilot and Boogly.
This is probably one of the most official-looking mixes I've made, both lego and cartoon! It reminds me of the official lego Nurp-Naut and Boogly murp, which I love! I really like how this one turned out!
I was on a bit of a mixels kick in August, and I've drawn all of my OCs, both current and upcoming, as Mixels. Today, I'll only be sharing with you the handful that I managed to finish.
You can enjoy the designs as is, but if you want to know my thought process behind these, then read on.
So, the first OC here is my most long-standing one, Aster, who I've, naturally, turned into an Orbiton due to all the space themeing that surrounds them. They're kinda based on the animals that were sent to space, hence the cat in a spacesuit look. Their name, Zvezda, is meant to tie into that, too. It's a reference to the Russian dogs that were sent to space, Belka and Strelka, being a similar sounding name. However, it's also the Russian word for star, tieing in with Aster's star themeing. The star theme is perpetuated with Zvezda's head being shaped like an upside down star. Additionally, his head and torso together look like an upside down rocket, though that wasn't very intentional. Like every Orbiton, he has jet boosters, but his are in his fingers.
Other than becoming superpowered creatures and having their names changed to fit with Mixels' naming conventions, these are largely still the same characters. Same personality, same pronouns, mainly the same relationships, they're just a tad more cartoony.
Zvezda is just as confident, energetic, passionate, and outgoing as Aster, and they need to be reigned in whenever they get carried away with an outlandish idea. Though, Zvezda acts more outwardly like a cat, purring and meowing often and all.
I couldn't separate the couple, so here's what Cal looks like as a Mixel, as well! With Cal sonetimes self-identifying as a werewolf, a spooky creature, I had to turn him into a member of the spookiest tribe there is: the Glowkies. Plus, the Glowkies are also known for their misical performances, so the tribe suits him in that way, too. His mixel name is Howell, because he howls at the moon, duh! I imagine he can use his tail as a whip. Not as much to say about him, to be honest. He's the same shy, anxious, and slightly awkward gentle giant.
I wasn't intending it at first, but the fact that Aster's and Cal's mixel versions come from the same environment and series is quite cute! They get to basically live right next to each other!
Next up is Finn! They're a sporty shark, a flexible sea creature, much like the Flexers, so I turned them into one! The part of their body I decided to make flexible are their arms since they're probably Finn's most prominent feature. The name I gave this version of them is Aflex, the name Alex, but with the word flex in the middle. Aflex is a flirty, outgoing, extra confident, and somewhat smug mixel. They love traveling around the Mixel world and always bring a camera with them to take pictures of the places they visit. They love meeting new mixels, and they love bragging about just how many mixels they've met in their travels!
The next and last OC for now that I turned into a mixel is Nox. Since he's a musician, I turned him into a Mixie. I thought that his larger body type could transfer really well into a chunky cassette player! His axolotl gills perfectly translated into antennas, too! This mixel's name is Quentone: Quentin + tone. Again, just like Nox, he's very chill and doesn't speak very often. He prefers expressing his emotions by playing different songs! He's a good mixel to come to when you're down, as he can always cheer a mixel up with a well-chosen song!
Mind you, I have proper original mixel character ideas that aren't just based on existing ones, but they will be coming later, as I don't have the time to finish them right now
