AVA HAD SHOWN UP AND MADE MORE FLAMMABLE THINGS 😭 ALSO VAL AND CINDER HAVE BEEN TRYING TO IMMOLATE THEMSELVES SINCE THE PILOT CAN THE FAIRY GEMSTONE PLEASE EQUIP THEM WITH OSHA-COMPLIANT FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
Regardless of canon explanation I know deep down in my heart that Isabel saw Val sick and wanted her to take a break, because Isabel has LEARNED!! #CharacterGrowth
But Valentina being Valentina gets up to train. And knowing that Serena goes to bug her at least once while she’s sick, it wouldn’t surprise me if she makes some sort of comment.
I am also going to go out a limb here and say Isabel doesn’t like Serena. So as soon as she sees her exit Valentina’s room she’s like “mmm, I’m gonna keep an eye on her.”
Or, alternatively, Valentina promises Isabel that she’s gonna stay in and rest and then breaks that promise because of Serena and that’s why Isabel arrives on the scene a few moments later than if she’d been right on her tail. Because another Sapphire said something about Val leaving on Cinder and Isabel has a whole moment like Ava does in season 1 when Sophia lies to her about leaving.
Anyway, the clip released gives me the vibe that SOME sort of conversation happened between Isabel and Valentina previously in the episode.
