Which @cas-lost-grace came up with and kindly tagged me in!
Rules are simple: Answer the questions and tag your friends and/or your favourite writers
1. Have you ever written in an unusual place? Where?
I can’t think of anywhere, but then I have pretty much written everywhere I could have a pen, a paper and a quiet moment. The one that stands out to me right now was sitting on the floor of a busy corridor.
2. The word/phrase you know you overuse, but can’t get rid of.
However. All the damned time. But it’s so handy, and so much more pretty than “but”.
3. Do you keep notes? Do you have a notebook? What does it look like? Add a picture/screencap of your notes.
Not really. I have a notebook that has scraps of stories for when I’m away from anything digital to type on, but I haven’t used it in ages, basically since I’ve started writing on my phone. I’m not even sure where it is right now.
4. What’s the hardest part of a fic to write for you? (angst/fluff/smut, exposure/plot twist/ending)
Lol, if I ever would write it, it would be smut, bc I have literally no idea how. But for the stuff I actually write - scenery descriptions that bridge time. Like journeys, that sort of thing. I can do on the spot descriptions and introspection, but not travel.
5. Have you ever based something in your fic on your personal experience? What was it?
Oh yes. Mainly it’s character things rather than plot, tbh - many many of my character readings are informed by my own experiences, which also has to do with the fact that I pick for my favourite characters those to whom I can relate.
6. What’s that one fic you want to write but somehow know you never will?
I have actually started this fic, but I am really not sure whether I will ever finish it. It’s a Red Dwarf sort-of-AU? The concept is kinda similar to what I did with “Dimensions” (Edit: Not “Dimensions”, “Destinies Entwined”! I can’t even keep my own stories straight), where the AU character ends up in canon and vice-versa. It also had demi!Rimmer and Rimmer/Lister, which kinda fascinates me still but eh... I think it might have gotten too close to home.
7. What do you usually do when you procrastinate?
Draw. Heh. This is not even a joke anymore. Honestly, usually fanfic/art *is* the procrastination.
8. What’s the funniest typo you’ve made?
I have a tendency to confuse “deviant” and “defiant”. So yeah.
9. Do you listen to music when you write? What kind?
Yes. Anything. Everything. Whatever I feel like. Lately, it’s been a lot of fanmixes, which generally are a mix of genres anyway.
10. Your favourite comment a reader has left on your fic?
Honestly, I enjoy all comments, so I really couldn’t pick the one favorite - though I love comments that invite a conversation, something that reflects on the reading experience bc we all read things differently, and I have only a limited way of telling what you will take away from my stories. Though I’m equally happy if all you do is say you loved the story.
I tag: Anyone who wants to do it, especially if you’re not yet a “famous” author - I want to hear from you! (And also many of the people I could think of were already tagged so...)
