love this cozy home of mine
slowly but surely things are coming together in this little home of ours.
I slept ten hours! and then took a two hour nap! It was glorious. I’ve noticed that lots of sleep is the only thing that seems to help with the nausea. Or I just lucked out today, either way, a win! I’m still super fatigued and this 90 degree heat doesn’t help but we went on a short walk around our new neighborhood and picked up some essential Fourth of July treats (hello firecracker popsicles!). It’s been so nice to share these early weeks with Alex. Infertility has been so hard on us and the miracle of this is not lost on us. Even when I’m feeling awful I’m thankful to be feeling it. It’s been exciting to see some subtle changes in my body already (my veins are very noticeable, my chest has gotten larger, my skin is dry and I think I’m finally seeing some of that glow people talk about).
We unpacked A TON today. I’m honestly loving our new place. It’s not too much space and it’s not too cramped. I think buying a two flat was a great investment idea (more than half our mortgage is paid with the tenant’s rent). I haven’t had a garage or backyard in almost thirteen years. I can’t wait to just make this space our own and be intentional with furniture and home goods purchases.
We have a lot of family and friend time scheduled this weekend and I’m really looking forward to it. i needed this four day weekend after how busy we’ve been the past few weeks. It’s nice to just go about the day at a leisurely pace.
plants seem happy! albeit, some could use re-potting.

Union Square Love: Somerville
Union Square Love: Somerville
Union Square is a place I drove through every week when I used to tutor a child. It was somewhere I passed through but never had time to stop. As the tutoring days ended and my family life began, I started to explore the area a little more. Honk brought me to Union Square and so did a little work I used to do with EHChocolatier. Not only has the neighborhood changed a bit from my tutoring…
