The devils chair is located in Lake Helen-Cassadaga cemetery.

Urban legends-

If you leave a unopened beer on the chair overnight, you will return to find the beer sealed, but empty.

The devil is also said to appear to anyone who is brave enough to have a seat. Would you have a seat?

This cemetery is illegal to visit after dark, so visit at your own risk!

Hi, I really like your blog. I was wondering if you’ve ever been to cassadaga?

Thank you! I have! I shockingly have never visited the devils chair tho. For those that don’t know, Cassadaga is a spiritualist camp in Florida that is just outside of Orlando. It has the nickname “Florida’s Witch Town” but rest assured it’s a village of mediums, not witches. It’s a cool, if not slightly overpriced, place that’s off the beaten track of typical tourist attractions. The folks there love visitors but mostly keep to themselves. You won’t find any Teresa Caputo types coming up to you saying “spirit has a message” because they make their living doing mediumship for pay. There’s also the Devils Chair. This is a large brick chair in the Cassadaga cemetery. Legend says that if you leave an unopened can of beer at the chair and make a wish, the devil will grant your wish and drink the entire can of beer- without ever opening it. I should note that these devil chairs are actually kind of common motifs in a lot of cemeteries, but I fucking love the legend and want to do it and actually come back the next morning.

crazy adventure

So I let two of my friend who were drunk convice me we should go to Casadega at 1AM on a Thurdday morning. We drive into town and park on the side of the road in front of the hotel. We walk down one street, around the hotel, and end up back in front of the hotel. We didn;t see any ghosts or people but we did hear some strange sounds. We sit on the porch of the visitors center for a while and just talk, Then from out of nowhere a brown truck drives into town and parks at a house not too far from us. We see lights go on and people moving around. My girl makes us get into the car to explore because the truck scared her. So we get in the car and i lock the doors. We drive past the house that the truck pulled up to and a lady dressed in all black is just standing in the driveway. I sped past her. We drove past the graveyard and turned around. We had to go past her house again and i had to speed past it again because she was still there. We eventually decide to leave because my girl thinks that the lady is going to follow us or attack us. I hpe to meet her in the daylight when we go back saturday afternoon.
