Mistresses of the Unworthy
What do you think about Casella Vaith?
Hi there!!
As her wiki page rightfully suggests, she is most likely identical with the aged Lady Vaith of the Dunk and Egg tale "The Sworn Sword". And a tragic figure.
👑"The King’s Ladies: Bellegere Otherys and Casella Vaith"👑 Two more ladies complete and I love how they turned out! Still 5 more ladies to finish in this series, I can’t wait!
Cassella Vaith
Do you have a list of women who remained unmarried and childless through their lives? It just seems as though there are so few that do, except for probably Shiera Seastar and Elissa Farman
I can’t say that’s something I’ve ever even considered but I’ll see what I can come up with. Note that any such list is going to be unavoidably limited by the fact that some women just disappear from the text, and that the information we have about some of them is laughably minimal so it’s subject to a bit of speculation.
Off the top of my head, I can recall:
Lady Jeyne Arryn, the Maiden of the Vale.
Lady Cassella Vaith.
Shiera Seastar.
Samantha Stokeworth, Queen Rhaena’s favorite who reportedly had no interest in children. We didn’t hear of any previous marriage for her.
Alayne Royce, Queen Rhaena’s favorite who reportedly had no interest in children. We didn’t hear of any previous marriage for her.
Melony Piper, Queen Rhaena’s favorite. Melony died relatively young though so we don’t know if she might have married at one point.
Jessamyn Redfort, Jeyne Arryn’s favorite. Maybe. We know very little about her to say for sure, but it’s possible that she didn’t marry either.
Lady Jonelle Cerwyn is still unmarried in her 30s, thought she is still alive so she could still marry especially since she is currently the Lady of Cerwyn after her father and brother’s death.
Elissa Farman. Maybe. The narrative loses sight of Elissa after her voyage with the Hightower brothers, but it’s possible that she did not marry. In addition to her relationship with Rhaena, Elissa scared off two previous betrothed which could indicate her disinterest in men and/or disinclination for marriage. Though this could be because of her dreams of adventure and exploration that marriage would have impeded.
There’s also those who joined the Faith including Septa Rhaella daughter of Aegon the Uncrowned, Septa Maegelle daughter of Jaehaerys I and Septa Rhaena daughter of Aegon III. Also, Alysanne, Lily, Willow, and Rosey, daughters of Aegon IV Targaryen by Megette, though we don’t know what happened to them after Visery II sent them to the Faith.
There might be others that I missed but those are the ones I can remember. Hope that helps!
Leo Tyrell vibes and some outfits
Casella Vaith vibes and some outfits
Hc: Leo I Tyrell's father is the late Lord Basil Tyrell and Lady Teraesa Tyrell ( nee Merryweather )
Casella's parents are Lord Corentyn Vaith and Lady Mehrima Vaith ( nee Toland )
Casella has dark reddish hair which is a genetic mix of her parents' hair colors ( a number of the Tolands have reddish hair ) and her father's golden eyes ( a number of Vaiths have golden eyes ), and she also has tanned skin.
Casella basically looks kinda like a mix of Princess Rudabeh from Epic of Shahmaneh and Rachel Weisz but with gold eyes
And actually Teraesa has golden brown hair
I can see Casella being kinda like a mix of Mihrimah Sultan, Olenna Redwyne and book Ellaria in spades
Leo Tyrell and Casella Vaith ( A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms )
I can see Casella looks a bit like Rachel Weisz but with golden eyes
If Aegon IV is a clear Henry VIII parallel, would Lady Elizabeth Blount be the corresponding Cassella of Vaith?
I think Aegon IV is more closely Augustus the Strong, actually, with Casella Vaith mirroring Fatima, later Maria Aurora of Spiegel.
Thanks for the question, Anon.
