My favorites: Stronger Than Dirt, Big Mama Thornton- she has a great wail, great expressive voice, great muuuuusic behind her oh my god she rules rhythm and blues i love Big Mama Thornton
Next is Orchestral Manoeuvers in the Dark, Crush- I've never heard anyone talk about this album lol but it's so interesting! Mildly new wave with a great moody tone and some seriously fun songs
Dust Bowl Ballads, Woody Guthrie- this one i feel like will be more of an acquired taste for some people lol 😭 but really essential socialist folk
Os Mutantes- this one i just made a compliation of a couple of their albums lol but they have such a fun variety of sounds, and are some pioneers of tropicalia
