Sunshine.

The two of us remained silent for a moment, the crashing waves and early morning seagulls making the only noise on the desolate beach.  It seemed like we were the only people in the world.  Nothing else really mattered but the color of the sky and sounds of the ocean.  I took a drink of my soda, feeling the thin liquid between my teeth, and swallowed with exhaustion.  It tasted burnt out and flat, like it was centuries old.
