The season 3 finale of "The Way Home" was fantastic last night!!! 😀 Going to post the spoilers behind the cut but very emotional at times, we got some answers and set ups for season 4, and I think the main theory about season 4's time period is right too. So glad this got renewed too as after that ending we need to know what happens next. LOL
I love that we finally got to see Colton figuring everything out and knowing that not only that Alice is his granddaughter, but that he also met Kat and Jacob as adults too and they're all time travelers. Plus he got to encourage Alice to follow her dreams of being a singer/musician, which got me tearing up as my maternal grandparents too were always so supportive of me being a writer and knew that's what I'm supposed to be doing. Then Del got to see her and Colton's wedding and realize he was going to tell her everything but he died before he could.
Also I'm glad Alice seems to be done with both Noah and Max. I didn't care for either of them as love interests, but Max as just a friend. She does need to focus more on herself and her music since she's so young. Plus, I still ship her with Nick, which brings me back to wondering if the old theory that Claire is adult Alice and she found a way to be with Nick by leaving the future. Guess we'll see if Claire shows up next season since Nick said they're moving back to town.
Then the twist with Elliot and his mom!!! 🤯 I know people speculated that Elliot might be the baby we saw but I didn't expect his mom to have left possibly with Colton's brother and they time traveled together. Then to leave him with Del, Colton, and baby Kat instead of Vic. That sets up season 4 so well and that the theory that season 4's time period would be the 1980s. There's also a theory that Nick could be Evelyn's son, possibly with Sam, since Nick was adopted and we don't know who his biological parents are, and they did tease about her first husband too and something going on there.
So we got those questions set up for season 4 as well as where Jacob went off to and if it's to confront who's sending Del those messages, Sam being mysterious and by the pond, we know Casey/KC isn't Alice's child but still don't know who their parents are, Lingermore actually belongs to the Landrys, and more. Again so glad it'll be back next year and can't wait to see what happens.
