In this eassy i want to say that Jon never hated martin bc he thought he was stupid

In fact ill go as far to say he never thought martin as stupid

Air headed? And thoughtless? Yea but not stupid

Infact jon thought martin was the smartest one in the archives

Thats why he hated him so much

Jon thought martin was underminding him in every way through out season one

Martin from Jons perspective was the oldest, had the most qualifications, spent 10 years in the library, and way directly appointed by Elias

Bad first impression aside Martin was the most qualified for that position to Jon

Only for him to be bad at the job

Jon HAD to think that martin was doing it on purpose to show how bad he himself was at his job

Worst part? Martin was nice

I cannot tell you how Justified Jon would have been if Martin really was pulling what Jon thought he was being incredibly qualified purposely being bad at his job having a direct line to Elias to report how Jon is doing and then being nice on top of it yeah no Jon was right to be pissed if that was what was going on

Which is why the cv thing ment so much to jon

Bc no martin wasn't doing all of this to make an ass out of jon

No he was just a guy struggling and in effectly the same boat jon was

So yea

In my next essay jon never claimed the supernatural didnt exist he just pretended to think the statments were horse shit

I think before the archives jon was a haft way decent lier

Like he doesn't have the world's worst Poker Face and if not being completely put on the spot can come up with some half decent bullshit

He was a drama kid after all

But I think the longer he was in the archives in the longer he was the archivist that ability just completely vanished from his lexicon because that's how the eye works it doesn't tell lies it tells terrible truth so Jon by season three or four is so embarrassingly bad at lying that its painful to wacth and it just keeps getting worse

Basically Jon is in the place of Grace and wakes up on the Hail Mary without any memory of who he is instead of being a school teacher he was a school librarian and of course got roped into it by Elias

Martin as rocky

I just think the lonely fits well with Rocky's story

John realizes that the reason he was so alone on Earth is because he was an asshole and push everyone away but Martin never sees him as that he just sees him as a leaky space blob who he likes so very much

One thing that is never touched on in time travel fix it fics is how martin would react to his mother being alive

Like the mix of emotions he must be feeling

Like in one hand its his mother and she is alive!!!

But also that is an abuser that hurt him and put him impossible situations where he had to give up so much of his life and wasnt even grateful

Yes a lot wasn't her fault bc sickness BUT not everything can be blamed on her sickness like how she treated martin. And Martins feeling on the matter arnt disregard just bc she was sick

I kinda want to do a deep dive on her and martins relationship as someone who was put into a caretaker role as a kid but thats for later.

Back to point Martin told Also martin how relived he was she was dead and how much that hurt him

And now she is back

Now what?

Does he count down the days until she passes?

Would he hate himself for doing that?

Would he still try to make things right now he knows she ends? Even tho its pointless

Either way jon makes it his goal to be hated by that woman bc he loves martin so much and how dare her not do the same

The Casino au

John and Martin work in separate casino hotels but they are connected so they're technically under the same brand but they're not the same under two management one of obviously under Elias the only one under Peter they get divorce and remarried at the chapel across the way every other week

Martin is a bartender at the Seaside fog

And Jon is a card dealer at the eyes beholdment

John is under a lot of stress because he is supposed to take over the company AKA he's doing all the stuff that Elias should be doing but doesn't while also being a card dealer

Jons super good with the cards and he can even read people using the cards

Martin his drinks are super good and have a tendency to always stay cold

Tim is performer doing stage magic while Sasha is a waitress

Daisy and Basira security obviously
