My review of Points2Shop
Points2Shop is a popular free consumer rewards service designed to give members the broadest possible earning opportunities across it's mobile apps and desktop website. Whether it’s consumer surveys, paid videos and radio broadcasts, free and paid product offers, paid-to-download apps, and various one-time tasks, Points2Shop can be a good choice for both newbies and those who are already familiar with similar services.
I originally got started with P2S early last spring when I wanted to sign up for Netflix. I knew that there were websites that give users kickbacks for shopping through their links, and I got $5 worth in points from Points2Shop (in addition to the $2.50 signup bonus). Ever since then I've completed a wide range of offers available through Points2Shop — all of them free, with a focus on paid surveys and email signups. After the iPhone app was released earlier this year, I started using it on a regular basis to download free apps and watch promotional videos on my phone. I would say being paid to download mobile apps is my favorite thing about this service, and the surveys are also a great option if you have some extra time to throw at them.
There is definitely a wide variety of reward opportunities on P2S, and I can honestly say that there are things on their website that I know almost nothing about simply because I haven't had the time to check everything out. They are constantly adding new opportunities to their lineup, including the ability to take a limited number of surveys through their mobile app.
The Points2Shop reward system is based on points that translate to cents on a 1:1 basis. The points can be spend at the P2S store which contains a wide variety of itms, including the full Amazon.com inventory. You can also select from a variety of gift cards, including Walmart, Newegg, Google Play, eBay, Amazon, and others — although many of them are physical and need to be mailed, which requires an addition postage fee. Points2Shop also recently introduced an option where you can be credited with cash rather than points on select offers — namely surveys, which you can cashout via Paypal or bank check, which is certainly a nice feature, although it does split up your earnings into two different categories. The Points2Shop store also allows you to purchase a single dollar bill (plus postage ) which they will mail to you as proof that the service is legitimate. (You can order it as soon as you sign up for P2S because of the 250 point starting bonus). Overall, I'm reasonably happy with Points2Shop's cashout system, and in the past I've bought stuff from Amazon through their store. This system isn't as good as it would be if you could cash out all your points through Paypal or low-cost electronic gift cards(like AppTrailers), but considering that it's easier to accumulate earning at Points2Shop than at any comparable service this is an acceptable trade-off.
If I have to do sum up my impression of Point2Shop, I would say that it's one of the best among its competitors, and the one I've earned the most with to this point, but is also one of the most disorganized, and difficult to navigate. When you log into the website, the earnings area contains a half-dozen different survey areas, a dozen different pages that have to do with games and videos, several more videos pages, and other miscellaneous options. The mobile webapp has several earning "walls", many of which have the same offers as one another. There also a native iOS app available in the App Store, further fragmenting the Points2Shop system.
Despite this, I recommend Points2Shop to anyone who would like to make a bit of extra cash at home on their computer or phone. Remember you can always message me for help in getting started with Points2Shop, and I will also post various suggestions and ideas to help others maximize their earnings with P2S, so feel free to follow this blog if you decide to sign up, or are already a member.
If you're new to Points2Shop and would like to sign up, please use my referral code if possible. Thanks, and feel free to check out the other reviews on my blog!
The Points2Shop mobile app is available for Apple and Android smartphones and tablets. Users must be 18+ or 13+ with parental permission. Available in USA, UK, Canada, with limited participation in other countries.
