Canon EOS 250D | 50mm | 1/1250s | f/7.1 | ISO 200 Taken on 16/05/2020. Immersed in the low undulating hills in Monferrato is Casorzo. This authentic countryside village is best known for its 'cantina sociale' ('wine cooperative') that produces 'Malvasia di Casorzo' or 'Malvasia Nera'. Unlike most varieties of white Malvasia wine, this one is a red variety, often noted for its rich chocolate notes with black plums and floral aromas. What's more, the Malvasia Nera wine is cultivated in one of only two DOC zones in the entire Piedmont region — one in Castelnuovo Don Bosco, the other in Casorzo. So it's certainly special! It was a shame I wasn't able to have a sip of the wine because of the lockdown, but there's always next time! Casorzo can be reached on the Asti–Moncalvo–Altavilla Monferrato line with 'Autostradale', Monday to Saturday. The bus will drop you at the bottom of the hill, so be prepared for a short steep climb up — not only to visit the charming historical centre like in this photo, but also to take in panoramic views of the hills. Depending on your itinerary and if you are a keen trekker, you might want to go for a walk to Grazzano Badoglio, Montemagno or Grana. The walking trails are pedestrian-friendly and take you through some stunning stretches of countryside. A thoroughly enjoyable experience! ______________________________________ #casorzo #ig_asti #monferrato #prettylittleitaly #italytravel #italy_illife #click_vision #italia #italy #ilikeitaly #ladolcevita #ig_italia #ig_italy #yallersitalia #bellaitalia #treasureitaly #charmingitaly #piedmont #visitpiemonte #ig_piemonte #yallerspiemonte #welivetoexplore #italia_inunoscatto #lensculturestreets #bestdestinations #beautifulplaces #wonderful_places #travel_drops #raw_italy #natgeotravel (at Casorzo) https://www.instagram.com/p/CAX0VgIIuGv/?igshid=1xnpec69c7zmi
