With everything that had gone down in the last few months, Cass was having trouble feeling the Christmas spirit. Cassiopeia knew she was supposed to be cheerful, baking cookies and singing songs with her family, but with the recent final loss of her mother her family felt smaller than ever. Not to mention that after all the battles she’d fought, all Cass really wanted to do was get high and nap. Still, if there was one person who could drag Cass from her recent depression, it as Nico. Just being around him gave her an energy boost. Earlier Cass hadn’t even wanted to leave her bed, and the next thing she knows she and Nico are carrying a real Christmas tree into her father’s living room. 

Well, Nico was doing most of the carrying. That was one of the perks of having a best friend who basically had super strength. Soon enough the tree was standing upright, and Cassiopeia was returning from the basement with boxes full of decorations; channeling Mars just long enough to tap into her own super strength.

“Alright, you ready to get this thing started? I’m already thinking color schemes. I’m thinking we either do classic red and green, or an aliens invading Christmas situation. Luckily, I’m prepared for both!” Cassiopeia gestured widely to the two boxes, “Maybe we can combine ‘em.”
