Anime Dedede is him in his stereotypical evil narcissist phase where he hasn’t learned what cognitive empathy is nor that being nice can get him more supply and overall pretty much only cares about himself

Game Dedede is him after he realized he had NPD and exactly how he was acting and decided to turn his behavior around for the better. He’s still a bit self absorbed, but he’s grown to learn to appreciate what people do for him more, and that even if he doesn’t actually care about someone, he doesn’t HAVE to be mean. Still can be selfish and egotistical, obviously, but he’s trying him best
