Popsocket, or in life Faolan, was born and raised in a cult run by their grandmother, Ruaidhri. Kaszidy, bored, decided to join it to see what was up, going with the fake identity of Tighearnach.
Faolan and Tighearnach would spend time together in secret, slowly falling for each other, but their relationship wouldn't've been allowed within the cult, so when faith in Ruaidhri wavered after a "prophecy" didn't come true, Tighearnach would decide to seize the moment and have an "awakening" as Kaszidy reborn, and the duo would separate, taking some of the other members alongside with them, finally able to be in love and act by their rules
This! Obviously pissed off Ruaidhri, especially after they'd had a child together, and she and her followers would plan and follow through on an attack. Tighnearnach would feign death so as to not TRULY reveal themself, and thus would see Faolan fall into a mirror, and then the mirror being shattered.
Usually, Kaszidy could live a life and fall in love and move on, being able to detach themself from the identities as if they were truly different people, but SEEING Faolan fall into one of the same mirrors they'd previously used to travel, they were certain she'd gone to the space between dimensions, and has spent the thousand years since waiting hopelessly to meet the resulting Dimensi, knowing this time their love didn't have to end there
