animal that matches their vibe -- this is the most abstract connection I made here because I was thinking of the hedgehog's dilemma, which is a big part of Cassidy's internal conflict especially in ME1 and early ME2. I also kind of wanted to try drawing a hedgehog.

interest or hobby - beyond the spaceship models we don't really see shepard engage in too many non-work activities in the games. I think she would have trouble with finding something she enjoys; all common things like crafts, writing, drawing, would not have appeal to her at best and actively frustate her at worst. I think Cassidy would like to keep going shooting even when she was at a point in her life where she couldn't do it as her job.

favourite food - I feel like I mentioned shepard liking orange peel chocolate in so many fics now that it would be dishonest not to include it here

an aesthetic/abstraction - this is supposed to be a comet. a rare and beautiful sight. burns brightly but quickly, on its way through space, unable to stop anywhere because that's its nature. i often think of shepard as a comet.

items on desk: dog tags. picture frame that cycles between three photos: a portrait of garrus, a group photo of the SR-1 crew after the battle of the citadel, and a family photo from her childhood (which causes a of mixed feelings about her dead father and mostly estranged mother, but also gives her a sense of belonging she is sorely missing during the reaper war). a stack of datapads with paperwork she keeps putting off.
