So I even made few sketches, but still wasn't sure if I like black/dark blue or yellow/golden/sand version more... And I decided to do both! Casted a silicone mold to make a copies and try different color patterns on them :P

I love how these little coffins turned out!! 🤩👻
Heres the third figure ive made, the fun guy! its hard to see but the underside of the mushroom actually has little bubbles that remind me of the gills of a real mushroom! A funny and unexpected aspect of this figures construction was that this fella is real top heavy and tends to want to rest on its head. for my future figures i will need to pay more attention to there footing/balance. Despite that I feel like these figures have the best shapes and feel of any of the figures i have made so far.

Tested some of my old resins before ordering new ones, and I think it's safe to say that this one should not be used any more. Unless for very specific purposes, like doll-sized milkshakes. (Not every craftster out there, newbie or not, seems to know that PU-resin usually has a very limited shelf life. It does not like contact with air, especially humid air. Even if it still looks fine in the can/bottle, even if you screwed the lid on reeeeeally tight or even vacuum-sealed it... Sometimes this just happens. Yet there's also resins that age rather well despite being badly stored, and cure properly even when the individual components start to get flake-y or crystallized. Sometimes a resin can even be one kind in this batch and another in the next. My advice for both old and brand new resin: Always run a little test before pouring it into your mould!)
I cast a bottlecap in the top of this olive blank before hand turning it, & using a ratcheting screwdriver kit (uses 4mm bits). It is 4.25 long & 1.75 at the widest point. The black thumbwheel controls the ratcheting action for tighten, loosen, & lock. It is sealed in shellac, finished in defthane, & waxed with carnuba. I turn these on my 1937 Craftsman lathe, they are hand made & hand finished, so they look like hand made pieces using natural materials. I wetsand & polish to get the best finish that I can, however the results are not as perfect as if I had a dedicated finishing facility.
