I could talk about this forever...

Am I the only one immensely enjoying the new season of Castle? Since s8 started I've mostly read bad comments and negative ratings about basically EVERYTHING the storyline, the characters' behavior and the writers' choices and I'm really glad I can still read some sweet and pleasant comments but I can't help but wonder why is most of the people so negative and judgmental?? Why can't everyone just enjoy the new episodes why has the show be CONVENTIONAL? Yeah it's angsty right now it is dramatic and maybe it isn't perfect but who cares? I am just so happy and grateful to be able to watch my fav show and my favs characters and I am so in love with the new plot because it is unconventional, it has everything and the actors are beyond great and I can't really understand why people have to be obsessed with useless details and can't just enjoy the magic they can bring us! And just because not every single thing is exactly the way they want it to be they want to quit watching it? I mean I respect everyone's opinion I'm just not capable of understanding it so PLEASE TELL ME I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE STILL THINKING THIS OBOUT THE SHOW!!! Let me, the writers, the actors and the whole fandom see how many people still love and care about this amazing show! And about the new path that the writers have chosen for this new season I simply love it I think this is exactly what the show needed, it may be incorrect about some aspects and it may be difficult to accept for now but I really have a lot of faith in the writers and actors.

Castle Season 8 Premier - XY

Finally getting round to seeing the premier luckily work was busy so i didn’t see to many spoilers or have time to fully scroll on my feed on tumblr so i watched it relatively spoiler free.

I have to say i enjoyed it, it was strange watching it with so little Beckett considering its the premier but it was done really well and has left me rather perplexed as to what the hell is going on.

I’m liking grown up Alexis, i always have liked her as a character never understood why some disliked her so much. She has always been curious so it was obvious for me that she would get involved in the PI stuff she likes puzzles as much as her dad though curious to know if she now has a PI License?  It was nice to see her stand up for Beckett as well its likely she has also started to understand how she works and it may not always been the best way but she does it to protect the people she loves.

Hayley, shes cool i’m interested to see how she plays out. Her accent already bugs me that UK accents on US shows have to be so over done. I live in the South East just Outside London and I don’t sound as posh as that, and if they say her mum was trouble then seriously she wouldn’t have as perfect accent as that. 

McCord and LT though... hopefully LT will pull through.

All in all it was good, very very intrigued to see more now and see how it plays out as the whole trust issue is a big deal i think for Castle so will be interested to see how they deal with it.

Castle Review: 8x01 “XY”

Well, kids, it’s here. The long-awaited, much-anticipated, ‘its it really going to happen? yes, yes it is’ beginning of Season 8

AND IT WAS AWESOME

I realize it’s probably a bit early to say this, but I’ll say it anyway: my god I love how well this show does 2 parters--to the point where I wish they did more of them. I don’t have anything against procedurals--I have watched my fair share of them--but i love the drama, angst and delicious complexity of serialized shows, especially when they’re done so very well.

If the goal of the new show-runners was to get everyone's attention with this season opener, they certainly achieved it. The whole hour was action-packed and kept me wanting more and more and more. 

As the title indicates, this episode was mostly about Castle’s side of the story, which meant Fillion took the lead in the majority of the episode, which, naturally, he is phenomenal at. I legitimately cannot even handle brokenhearted “my wife is missing” Castle. It hurts my soul.

As for the supporting group: Ryan & Esposito were great, per usual (Gun, Knife, Kevlar - amazing), we saw Lanie, as we don’t see Gates in every episode, I can’t really say I missed her, however I think I will more as the season goes on (maybe? maybe not...but i’d really grown to like her). The standout for me, though, was Alexis. I’ve never been a huge Alexis fan - I never hated her, but I just didn’t love her--until this episode. She was great! Excellently used and excellently played by Molly Quinn. If this is a glimpse into how this season will unfold I’m definitely excited.

Hayley...I’m reserving judgement. I enjoyed her sass, but I don't know if I’m going to love her long-term...I think that depends on how she’s used/seen. 

The return of Bracken was absolutely brilliant. Jack Coleman has always been amazing and the guy you just love to hate, but he was fantastic even in just the little cameo (but we’ll see him again next week - can’t wait for Kate to face off with him.)

The scene with the spiders... Guys. Seriously. I don’t like spiders, but I wouldn't consider myself terrorized by them, but holy god damn that scene MESSED ME UP. It’s the only time I’ve ever had to turn away during an episode - the bag of spiders - BAG OF SPIDERS! - oh his head...Nope. Nope. Nope. Which is why absolutely 100% Nathan Fillion deserves some applause for that scene, because if it had been me? I would have been catatonic with one just on my hand/arm let alone multiples on my FACE!!!

And now the Caskett. I think this episode pretty much depicts what the show-runners were saying: challenging them, but making them stronger. The beginning scene with the bracelet - adorable. Castle’s gut-wrenching stress and worry over Beckett’s whereabouts because he loves her so much. The pain/confusion when she saves his life only to run away. And the final scene with her looking out the window--all of it excellent. 

Random points:

The gift idea was great and all, but I’m sorry - it’s criminal to destroy a perfectly good cupcake like that.

The shootout at the 12th - like...WHAT?! I can’t even handle that

Thank god the writer’s confirmed LT is ok (I was genuinely worried!)

RIP McCord!

Can’t wait for next week so we can see Kate’s POV. Fingers crossed the mysterious reasons why Kate is doing what she’s doing make sense and we don’t have another “Sleeper” incident. Also, I’d like some explanations please. Like how Kate was shot in the abdomen, lost copious amounts of blood and yet...is miraculously fine??? 

Can’t wait to find out!
