The view from the bridge

I've been looking through the archives and have found some more photographs shot 'on the go' when I've been out and about on other business. These were shot from Castle Bridge, looking upstream along the Avon. A scene of urban 'regeneration'. A scene that over the last century has changed pretty much beyond recognition. What little remains of the old warehouses and works have now been repurposed as apartments. New apartment blocks are springing up. Ones that could be almost anywhere. It feels like there's less and less of what gives Bristol any character, certainly in this part of the city. Mind you, the process did start with the Luftwaffe who heavily bombed Bristol during WW2, paving the way for the post war planners and then the developers to finish the job off...
