favourite YTTD duo that hasn't interacted/barely talked in game? like headcanon

I love the idea of Shin and Mai being friends!

They contrast while being similar with Mai pretending to be weak while she's strong and Shin pretending to be strong while he's weak. Yet, they're both kind hearted people under their façade.

Also, I think they'd be really funny. I could see Shin letting his guard down a bit around her because she seems like a sweet baker, but then he starts sweating bullets when he sees her throw a knife.

I want them to either have a "He asked for no pickles" dynamic or Shin being deathly afraid of her while no one can figure out why because Mai seems so sweet.

my interests are either heart-breaking media where people die all over the place (YTTD, WH, Omori) or really cute wholesome ones (A3!, Lego Elves, She-Ra, Barbie Movies)

i cannot decide, i love both genres equally and spend too long thinking about every single one-

so real though!! both genres are awesome, and even better when they get switched up. give the kids some well-deserved peace and silliness and the cartoon protagonists some good ol' trauma <3

kind of reminds me of me and my partner's tastes, i'm mostly into the first category being a big fan of psychological horror, while they stick to mostly-wholesome cartoons. very valid though

so i've seen people draw Shin without the scarf, and his design/colour palette looks so much better without it! (i think cause the scarf is warm colours and the rest of Shin is cool/neutral colours) and it got me thinking, what if it looking out of place is intentional, to show that Midori's scarf doesn't belong on Shin at all. emphasising that Shin would have be so much better off without Midori's influence in his life?

I think you're right!

Shin's entire color pallet is dull, which is a design choice that makes sense given that he's a character who would rather fade into the background then stand in the spotlight.

Yet, he wears this bright red scarf that's hard not to notice. If the fabric belonged to Shin it would seem odd...but it's not Shin's scarf. It's never been Shin's scarf.

Interestingly...the scarf not quite seeming to fit him could be a commentary about his character. He forces the scarf on and tries to make it blend in with the rest of him, but there's just something about it that doesn't fit. That would be a great metaphor for his Sou Hiyori persona.

what's your opinion on aroace Shin headcanon? (since i am, i have this tendancy to hc my favourites as aroace if there's nothing in canon to prove me otherwise, also Shin just gives me the vibes)

Aroace Shin is such a great headcanon, and nothing in canon implies otherwise!

Honestly I can understand any type of LGBT sexuality headcanon for him considering he just gives off the vibes of someone who's aggressively not heterosexual. Whether that be aroace, gay, bisexual, pansexual, or a different label!

The only headcanon I can't bring myself to agree with is Shin being cishet. I feel it in my soul that likes to project me being LGBT onto the fictional characters I like.

if we're assuming that we'll be seeing younger versions of the characters in the mini-episodes (judging by the Kai and Yabusame siblings screenshots that Nankidai posted) do you think we'll get an explanation of the greenblings and why they were separated. especially how Shin was completely unaware of his sister's existence despite being 7-8 when Kanna would've been born

so maybe Shin's parents aren't Kanna's bio ones at all? in that case, the only explanation i can think of is that Shin's current parents aren't his bio ones either (cause Midori said specifically that Shin and Kanna are siblings "by blood" which disproves that one theory that Shin and Kanna were siblings cause they were adopted by the same family at different times which is why neither of them remember the other)

An interesting theory I've seen is that Shin and Kanna are half siblings on their Fathers side! That would example why Shin never noticed his pregnant Mother, but they'd still be related by blood.

That's the theory that makes the most sense to me, but I'd love to get more canon information on their backstory!

do you believe that we will ever find out the Dummies' wishes? or do you think that they might just never get properly mentioned again, symbolic of how Asunaro just used them as tools to drive the death game forward? i honestly have no idea what to expect from 3-2 at this point, but i have really high hopes for it!!

I lean toward the idea of us not learning anything! Like you said, I think it would be more meaningful for us to never learn anything super significant about them in a showcase of how little their lives mattered as dummies.

If we ever do learn anything, I bet it will be about Shunsuke. He's still super suspicious, and there's some plot threads lingering with him. Mainly about how he knew Sara and why he felt the need to cuss her out before dying.

However, I could also see us getting hints in Your Turn To Shine about the dummies backstories, or if AI's of the dummies are introduced maybe we'll get hints/confirmation through that.

Either way I'm excited for what future chapters will bring!
