Joshua didn’t liked that place. He hated when the doctors examined him and he hated that the humans though they were doing a favor for him. He wasn’t a weak hybrid, because of his life he was quite capable of dealing with situations by himself. But it wasn’t all bad… On their first day there, Jeonghan had found a interesting toy for them.
At the center was a group of 10 hybrids. All of them were different and that was what attracted Shua and his almost twin’s attention. The duo didn’t understood why they were most of the time together and why they were so friendly towards the humans so they started to get close to them to get informations.
It wasn’t a easy task. Although all of them are some level of friendly, the duo wasn’t exactly open to strangers, what the others could quickly feel. Their training in being docile to please didn’t work with the hybrids and Joshua soon noticed that he would have to drop the fake smile if he really wanted to play with the big group.
He didn’t understood why he wanted to get along with that group that much but there was definitely a strong force that pulled him in their direction. Maybe was their innocence? Maybe their lightness and happiness? He just knew that for at least 2 weeks he and Jeonghan really tried to get close to them. But there weren’t much progress.
“You know… If you really want to get close to them you need to drop the attitude a little.” Seungcheol, also known as S. Coups, decided to give them some advice since he had joined recently too. “They are pretty sensitive people, if you guys keep acting like the rest of the world are enemies, they really won’t open up for you.”
“What do you mean? I thought we were always pretty polite. Even with that human of yours.” Jeonghan was a little offended while Joshua actually understood what the bear was talking about. As he explained soon after, even being polite the duo gave a feeling of distance like only they 2 matter.
“Joshua is easy to approach but seems fake sometimes, like he really don’t want to talk with you but is too polite to say. Jeonghan is beautiful so many want to approach but you are cold as ice if you are not interested in the person talking.”
“So… What do we do?” Joshua liked the younger hybrids from the group. He thought that their energy could make him go back to his innocent self too.
“Well… you could start being more approachable for them? Like… I like you guys but because we can talk like this. Maybe you could found a common ground with them? They like sincerity more than any other trace.” Coups indicated Jihoon sleeping at a couch near them.
“You don’t need to force yourselves to be different from who you really are, just talk to them with sincerity and they will accept you 2 right away.” The bear smiled before leaving them with their thoughts. The 2 cats exchanged looks and nodded, agreeing to do their best to be friends with that group of interesting people.

You had just arrived at the center and had encountered that mess. While your team was divided to help on the other areas, you went to your office to see the hybrids that were waiting for you there. You couldn’t help but feel quite nervous since you already knew who most of them were.
“So… What happened?” Your tone was low, showing the gravity of the situation. You spoke as soon as you were seated, before any of them pounce at you.
“Y/n… We are sorry. Even if it wasn’t us who started, we got hurt… You made us promise to behave and stay far from trouble when you were leaving but we couldn’t keep the promise…” Seungcheol took the front on this. You nodded at him.
“It’s okay Coups, I already know that it wasn’t any of you who started it. But… Who can explain to me what happened?” Your eyes flew to the cat hybrid that was cleary avoiding looking at you. “Joshua? Tell me what you know, please?” Your tone was more sweet now since you knew that the boy didn’t liked you, unlike Jeonghan, he could be quite mean sometimes.
“Sure, do I get a star after it?” His voice was sarcastic and the other boys winced but didn’t said anything. You waited and after some seconds he sighed. “I don’t know everything. I just heard Jeonghan and that random hybrid screaming at each other. When the crazy one came and pushed them I was with these guys and we ran as fast as we could. Getting there we divided so some could help to stop the crazy one while others ran to see how the ones who fell were.”
“Namjoon said that you all had bruises and all of them were cared?” All of them nodded.
“When can I see Jeonghan?” Joshua got in front of you, putting his hands on the table and approaching his face from yours. “Why can’t I see him now?” You could sense the tension on your boys bodies but you yourselves were quite calm.
“When he wakes up I can take you there. Until then you have to wait for the okay from the medical team. The most I can do for you now is go myself inside the medical bay and bring news outside for you.”
“Would you do it?” You nodded. “Even knowing that I may be mean to you again and again after this?” You nodded again. “Why?” His eyes were burning in distrust and hesitation. You smiled.
“Because I don’t think everyone here have to like me. Also, I know that you are a good person, the boys behind you really loved to pass time with you and Jeonghan so I don’t think that none of you are truly bad. They would never help you and him like this if they didn’t agree with me.” You indicated the boys around he that were agreeing furiously.
“You were at the group that tried to stop the hybrid, right?” He looked at you with wide eyes. “You are covered in bruises. I also can see that none of my boys have as much as you. So you shielded them, right?” You didn’t waited for his answer. “See? You aren’t a bad being.” You smiled sweetly.
“I protect my friends.”
“I know.”
“But I couldn’t protect Jeonghan…”
“You being too hard to yourself. You took care of the others, right? Sending the younger ones to see how the fallen were was a great idea.”
“Why are you doing this? Why are you trying to help me?”
“Well… Although I would do it for anyone in your place and I’m doing it because I want to, I own Jeonghan, so I’m taking care of his brother. Just like he ask me too.” You got up and didn’t explained further. Actually, this was Jeonghan’s condition: ‘Take care of my brother too’. “Joshua, I’m going to see Jeonghan now. But before that… Would you like to live with all your friends?”
“What do you mean?”
“Well… I can adopt you and Jeonghan… So you all can live together and help each other heal. My boys need you 2 as much as you need them.” You shrugged “The only downside is that I’m also living there.” He examined you for some seconds before answering with a low voice.
“If you convince Jeonghan, I’ll go. I can’t let him alone.” You nodded before going to the medical bay. When you arrived there, you asked Mark to arrange dorms for the boys. You all would wait for Jeonghan.

Joshua was used to the situation he was in. Sitting in front of a old and disgusting man, eating a fancy dinner inside that filthy room, pretending that he was there because he really wanted to.
He would smile and complement his clients sometimes he couldn’t eat on the table or even was dragged to under it but his situation was overall better than some inside that house.
Being the second most expensive hybrid on the house, Joshua had a round small table that was always used by his clients to fulfill their fantasies of having a meal before getting what they really went there for. Also, because he was smuggled from LA, his clients liked to use a lot of English words.
Jisoo was used to all of this because he arrived at the house when he was 3, so he was educated since the beginning to accept that that was the live of a hybrid. There were no way for them to be free like the people who come and go from their rooms. Well… At least they could dream of it, as long as they didn’t tell to the guards.
There was a loud noise on the room next to his, where his best friend and only true connection Shua had lived. Jeonghan must had a rough client that night. Shua would be more concerned if his own client wasn’t a easy person. He had to keep his full attention on him or the old man would beat him up until he calmed down.
He would never hit him in the face though. That was one of the rules in the house. The clients could do whatever they wanted but mark or scare the hybrids’ faces. That was why his friend Jeonghan was still beautiful like an angel, since he was naughty like a demon. Jisoo almost never was caught doing something wrong so was rare for him to be punished.
“So, did you liked my present?” The man smiled to Joshua, also ignoring the now constant noise next door. “I especially told them to let it stay in the room with you.” The hybrid forced a giggle out. The human was really successful, he wore expensive suits and were always with shiny watches. Also, he was always with an eye mask to conceal his identity.
“I loved it so much, thank you Master, for giving me the collar.” It was a dog collar. Too flashy and humiliating for Joshua but the owners of the house found hilarious so they made him use it everyday. The worst thing was that he needed to wear it all the time near this man, not taking off even after they were done with everything.
“Good. Now how about we quit pretending you’re human and you come to take your real food?” The man took Joshua’s hand and guided him to the space between his legs. He forced him on his knees so that Joshua’s face was right in front of his lower parts.
---
“Well, seems like we arrived just at the right time, huh?” Your voice was humorous since you knew the old man inside the room that was keeping the hybrid on his knees at the floor.
“Who are you? Where are the guards?” The human got up, pushing the hybrid from him and putting his pants back. Jeonghan, who was right behind you, ran to his friend.
“Oh, we had already taken care of them. Relax, we are here for the hybrids not for you.” As you were speaking, BamBam and Yugyeom also entered the room.
The man, seeing the huge guns attached to the Giant Maknae, trembled and got out of there as fast as he could. You made a hand gesture to DoubleB that quickly understood. He left the room going after Youngjae.
“Why did you let him go?! He is going to do it with other hybrids! Don’t you care?!” Jeonghan was really mad at you while helping his friend to stand up. Yugyeom giggled before going out to guard the hallway.
“Of course we care. Why do you think we came for you guys?” You went slowly around the room, looking for anything the hybrid might consider as baggage.
“Although I really want to throw him at the jail and let him rot there, my team is using him as guide. He likes to go to brothels like this around the country. Usually we wait for him to go away for some days before closing the place so he doesn’t get aware of us.”
This time it was special because it was inside a huge touristic zone, so the government was pressing the organization to act fast. People from other countries were starting to notice and the reputation of the area was getting worse. Gladly, the man had never seen you and the Strike team so he couldn’t recognise you guys.
---
Joshua was slow to understand what was happening. He just knew that in a moment he was almost doing the first part of that night’s job when in another he was being pushed away by the old man. The push was quite strong and made Joshua hit his head in the bed.
Then, for some reason, the noise outside was stronger for a minute before everything becoming silence and Jeonghan got his arms around Joshua. The hybrid couldn’t understand what the friend was screaming to the weird smelling masked girl that entered the room after him.
Nor could he understand why the man ran away after screaming just one time nor who were the scary young man full of fire guns and the tall slim baby that ran after the man.
All he could do was study the girl that seemed to be the boss and familiar with Jeonghan. While his friend helped him stand up, Joshua noticed that the girl was looking around his room. He didn’t liked it. He felt shame and humiliation when laughter appeared in her eyes while examining his possessions. It wasn’t much but it was all yearned by him with a lot of effort and nightmare work.
Not that he was going to show any of these emotions. With years of practice, no one would never really see what he was feeling. So his first step to begin to process what was happening was schooling his facial expression. He looked at Jeonghan and didn’t notice any tension. Also, the boy with the guns went away and the girl didn’t stand a chance if he had to attack.
---
“Wait… What the hell is happening here?” The unknown hybrid finally spoke. You looked at his friend and indicated for him to explain the situation. You couldn’t identify nothing personal from the hybrid on the room besides some beaten clothes, just like in Jeonghan’s one. So, you sat at the bed, waiting for the hybrids to catch up.
You thought that the clothes the humans there gave to the hybrids were ridiculous. Even for a brothel. If it wasn’t so tragic it would be laughable. You sighed when you thought about your other hybrids and how different the two groups were. Even Jihoon was a little more approachable at first moment then the duo in front of you.
These two, mostly Jisoo, seemed to be quite shy or at least afraid from getting closer to others. Understandable, of course, but maybe Jin’s team could do some work with them? Also your hybrids could help since they always approach the newcomers that had your smell with them, although you would tell them to be more patient and careful with them.
“So… We can be… free?” The foreign hybrid sounded almost afraid from speaking the last word out loud. They were quite cute standing near each other, holding hands and being hopeful. You couldn’t help but to smile at the view.
“That’s what she told me.” Jeonghan nodded. He looked at you. “This is Jisoo, the cat that came from U.S. like I told you.”
“Nice to meet you, Jisoo, I’m Y/n.” You smiled to the hybrid that didn’t returned it. You sighed. “Ready to go?”
Hello there!!! So, just passing by to say that this week will be holiday here in Brazil so I won’t be able to post anything. Thursday I’ll be back to posting okay? Just so you guys don’t think I broke the promise or anything like that.
