Didn’t want to miss Caturday, so Happy Caturday!

I recently got a new water bowl for them, and I set it up for them this (late) afternoon. I think they like it. Smarty (left) and Daddy (right) at the bowl. Mama hanging back, and Batcat strolling in.

Years ago, I’d had a Litter Maid box for my Patrick. On the first day, he peed on the mechanism and shorted it out. So I’ve been hesitant to try a mechanized box. So I recently got a Litter Robot for them. For previously feral cats, they’re very picky about things. If the litter box has anything in it at all, multiple times of the day, Smarty will meow at me until I remove the mess. I just can’t spend the day following them in each litter box. Until this miracle box came, I’ve had three large covered boxes that I haven’t been able to keep up with. These guys will actually wait in line now for each to go and the box cycles. They never have to step through icky litter. Seriously a miraculous box.

Also, I have to vacuum in there. They have been shredding the original carpeted cat house (that’s about 20 years old), so there’s bits of carpet everywhere. I do have a vacuum but haven’t charged it yet. That will happen very soon.

hi - its the peeing kitten anon again! thank you very much for your advice. ill make sure to bring him to the vet at some point; he has to go in for a checkup anyways. im perfectly open to another litter box; the main problem is my parents. they already fought me on adding the one behind the chair for a couple months, so it may be a struggle to convince them to let me put another down. im not sure how to go about it. as for cat pee - im not sure which cleaner we have rn, but ill check it (1/2)

to see if it has the enzymes and if not, to get some. i think it may not as he keeps peeing in the same places. i doubt its smell - i went away for a few days and asked my brother to clean the box in my room and he didnt and it when i came back it was quite dirty but my kitten kept using it when he was in my room anyways. also - for the lid part, i have lids on them and without them my kitten plays in the litter nad kicks it out. is there anyway to stop that without a lid? thanks! Deeper litter boxes tend to help - I like using plastic totes for litter boxes instead of the ones sold in pet stores. They tend to be larger for a similar cost, and they’re taller to help keep litter in. And they’re easier to keep clean, especially if you keep a deeper amount of litter in - I almost never have issues with urine-soaked litter clumping on the side of the big tote box I have, compared to the regular pet store box, which needs to be scrubbed out more often.

I’m sorry your parents are difficult. Honestly, that kind of thing absolutely baffles me - all I can think of is “would you rather have cat piss on the floor, or more litter boxes??” It seems like an obvious answer to me! But people like to be contradictory, I suppose. XD
