Joining the other anons talking about Warriors.

Does anyone else find it overwhelming that lately almost all the comics coming out are Clangen stuff? I get that that simulator provides interesting concepts for stories (or so I assume—I don’t know exactly how it works). But oh my god, all the comics aren’t even Warriors spin-offs or fanfics anymore—it’s just Clangen.

That’s on top of the fact that, as people have said, folks don’t have any artistic references other than Warriors or another clone/spin-off of it. Please consume other media—and I’m not just talking about reading other xenofiction by different authors; I mean consuming material in general from other genres and media. Seriously, you can draw inspiration from there, too. All of those also felt like eating pre-chewed stuff :/

And by the way, I hope you’ll also explore other possibilities for using cats as protagonists. Like, I want a story about feral cats in Australia that actually addresses the PROBLEM these animals pose there. Everything seems to be about glorifying feral cats in some way.

It also seems like you can create cats with magical powers that live in almost-human clans, but the concept of using another truly wild feline species (even if it isn’t “social” by nature) seems off-limits. There are many other cat species (and I’m talking about small felines, not lions or similar like) that you could use in other scenarios, please.

I hate it when people draw a folder ear cat without exploring their disability, all Scottish fold cats have osteochondrodysplasia , which hugely impacts their quality of life. Osteochondrodysplasia is caused by a genetic mutation that gives them their folded ears. It changes the way cartilage forms throughout the body and affects all cats with folded ears bred from Scottish Folds. In the most extreme cases, this leads to severe breathing problems, as well as causing dental and eye issues.

Folded ears may also impact on social interactions between cats, making their body language more difficult for other cats to understand. This includes munchkin cats, Lykoi, even Pitbulls, and that one strawberry tiger.

i have so many conflicting feelings with cat xenofiction: in one hand, i love cats and have so many cat stories and ideas i would love to write, I never was a Warrior cats kid but still. On the other hand, the xenofiction genre has an oversaturation of cat comics, especially Clangen comics. I'm ~so tired~ of clangen comics, every single one is almost the same too, with dumb cults
