Daily Challenge 1/16/2020: Cat Study
Today’s choice was anatomically incorrect cats! We’re doing weekly themes and this week is pets. (Since the week is almost over there will be a new theme come sunday).
Looking at all of my sketches now I realized that I probably should have started by drawing an actual full on cat instead of a bunch of bits and pieces like Frankenstein(’s monster). But as this was the first day and I was already crying when I started, I think it was very good practice to get my pencil moving. The first one I drew was the cat that is cut off because I didn’t think it through enough to realize I was starting too close to the end of the paper. My favorite piece is the eyes at the bottom (and Smudge hidden at the top)
One day I will revisit cats again in months time. Also I don't have a scanner rn so I guess you guys will just have to deal with these crappy phone pics of my sketchbook until I start doing digital or I bother scanning I HATE MY LIGHT why is it YELLOW
(drawn yesterday)
(drawn today)
at some point during the practice i did today, i actually started to enjoy drawing cats :D
i think i'm starting to get the hang of this; i'm gonna do a couple doodles within my comfort zone as a break and then do one more page of cats before i move on to either birds or dogs
