Yapping about my oc’s. Long ass post. Copy pasted from my answer to a thread on Toyhouse and not in the slightest proofread. Just straight up rambling.
so their story doesn’t actually have a name but it takes place in a fantasy based land where there kingdoms, you can magic, etc. etc. also everyone is a cat. Ish.
The whole magic thing is actually forbidden and can get you arrested if you’re not trained, have the proper education, and licensed to practice it, so there are specific jobs for those interested, but the school’s are super expensive to go and the license is hard af to earn, so there are a lot of people who learn magic freely and are shunned from society for doing such. Most of these people end up in the lands outside of the kingdoms they all come from, and they end up in a guild.
Our main characters, Paxillus and Lani, were both royal runaways. Solani was supposed to marry Pax’s older brother Mac, but they ended up being just best friends. Mac never actually had any issue marrying Lani and continuing the whole royal thing, but he could see that she hated the idea, and so he suggested running away. Lani escaped, and Pax got lost, but Mac was caught and sent back to the kingdom. He spends the rest of his life in the kingdom like the good boy he is, though he has no more wife, because no one can find her. The royal court, of course, dont want people to freak out because their princess is gone, so they just say she got sick and keep lying about her no longer making public appearances. When people get too suspicious of this, Mac and Lani’s dna eventually gets mixed via magic to create their daughter Mayday.
And somewhere within the forest, our runaways create a guild of their own, run by Lani, Natalia, and Jay. Paxillus eventually finds his way there. He’s always been a strange fellow, so he’s a bit socially isolated. This becomes important when he and Lani get married, have kids via magic (because Pax is biologically sterile), end up fighting, and Lani eventually leaves him and takes the kids. This hurts especially bad considering that Pax is a seer, (an unwilling magic participant who has the use of magic as a biological factor, rather than a learned trait. This is from his mother, who was actually a wild cat who worked as a maid in the kingdom run by his father, the king, and step-mother, who eventually divorce because she is terribly controlling and abusive, but she also remarries to someone she actually loves, and not someone she was betrothed to, and she becomes a better person. She hates magic, though, and there just happens to be a small kingdom nearby who uses it frequently, with a daughter not too far from her son’s age… and if they happened to marry young, she’d get control of the land… hm…) So he is aware that he and Lani are soulmates because he’s seen, and continues to get visions, fo every life they’d lived and all of their happy moments, and also because he misses his kids! They used to adore him! Especially Parker, who now wants nothing to do with him and absolutely hates him.
Back within their kingdoms, though, Mac drinks himself to death and is buried in the royal graveyard, and Mayday, not wanting the crown, runs away under the suggestion of Mac’s twin sister, Minnow, who actually does want to take over. This leaves Mayday to run back to the kingdom of the mother she’s never met, where she instead meets her uncle Saffron, who reluctantly hides her as a rogue, despite being a highly esteemed knight with a great respect and knowledge of the law. They’re both looking for Solani, but Mayday is willing to bend the law a lot more than Saff, so when they get closer to finding Lani and get more desperate, all of his morals and values begin to break and crack, and it makes him feel terribly guilty because he’s breaking the law and putting aside what’s important to him more and more every day, but he also realizes how unfair and cruel the laws are, and he also feels guilty about upholding that cruelty, especially because he’d taken his job so seriously.
Eventually, Mayday runs too close to guild property, where she gets caught by her older brother, Keiran, who takes security of his home quite seriously.
Elsewhere, on the outskirts of the guild, shunned by everyone at this point, is Paxillus, who got desperate enough for any connection, especially after the divorce, where the love of his life won’t speak to him, one kid only visits out of obligation, and the kid that idolized him now hates his guts, that he used his learned and biological magic use (the learned part was because he taught himself other forms of magic to help people, because he hoped it would make them like him more, but it really just disturbed everyone even further) that he teaches himself necromancy, and returns back to his home to revive his older brother, who was the only other friend he had in life that wasn’t Lani.
And this is all I’ve got so far. Pax takes Mac back home, Mayday and Saff meet Keiran, Parker, and of course, Solani, and drama ensues.
Also referred as cat boys/girls (to the dislike of most) by some people.
The Cat-Folk population ranges from the common house cat to tigers lions. Surprisingly enough, there are individuals that come from species of the machairodontinae/saber-toothed cats.
Banned items: laser pointers, whatever Artrovar calls catnip (it is not catnip), any animals residue. (I'm not writing all of them here because it occupies 10 pages and I ain't reading through that)
Reproducción: the process is like any normal feline. The only exception being is that the new individuals have to go through a process, currently unknown for us, to turn them into Cat-Folk, as the newborns are normal animals, whit out any characteristics that may say otherwise. (in other words, the new borns are normal animals)
Also Roe's cat has gone through this process, so behold Dr.Muffin, only pet him while he is not working.
