CAT 2017 (Common Admission Test): An Overview

CAT (Common Admission Test) is an entrance exam conducted every year by IIM (Indian Institutes of Management) to take admissions to their Management programs. This year CAT 2017 is being conducted by IIM Lucknow. The exam will be held on 26th November 2017. IIM Lucknow has already released the admit card for the exam on 25th October 2017. Students who have filled the application form and wish to appear for the exam can download their admit card from the official website of IIM Lucknow.

 CAT exam Timeline

 The infographic attached above reveals the tentative dates of CAT 2017.

The eligibility criteria of CAT 2017 is as follows:

Aspirants must have passed and obtained a Bachelor’s degree from the recognized university or institute.

The minimum percentage of aggregate or equivalent CGPA to be secured by candidates is 50 for General category and 45 for Reserved Category candidates.

Final year Graduation students are also eligible to appear for the exam given they fulfill the required cutoff for Bachelor’s degree and other factors of IIM and other participating institutions.

The category wise seat reservation is as follows:

PWD - 3%

ST -  7.5%

SC - 15%

OBC - 27%
