Before fork goes in mouth you stop and wish your dining companions Bon Profit, which in literally translation means, Good Profit. Although when this is said at the beginning of a meal to the other diners, you are wishing them a good meal. It is something everyone says in Mallorca, and a cultural habit that I truly enjoy. Growing up in the United States we would have some families say Grace, but most of us said nothing at all. I find dining to be that one time where we all come together without the noise of technology, and enjoy each others company. Acknowledging one another just makes your meal taste that much better.
