Pam took off her glasses, placing them on the coffee table. “I’m almost certain that you know how to read, Gian,” she said, with a laugh. Leaning back in her chair, she allowed herself to relax around the younger man. “You know, sometimes you remind me so much of Harley. It’s very endearing.” There was an amused grin on her face as she stood up, taking a step towards Gian before ruffling his hair. It was easy to let go, and be silly around him – she’d known him for years, and he was like a son to her. She’d always protect him and take care of him, whenever he needed her to. “Remember when you read to my babies with me? To help them flourish? That wasn’t just memorised words, darling.” She kissed the tip of her index finger, then tapped the tip of Gian’s nose. “Follow me, I want to show you my balcony garden.”

Gwen froze when she was told not to turn around, wondering what was behind her. Her spidey-senses weren’t tingling, which meant that she wasn’t in any immediate danger. “Why?
