okay i'll have to think about this more.... and i may amend this on my second watch through (and with discussion with other writers etc of course).
but i'm thinking about charlie & her current interactions ish and i think it's so interesting to me that somehow sayj's valentino @lusturia is higher on her shit list than anyone else like she can't stand him; does she hate him? well no hate is complicated thing for her. like, lute (specifically echo's @chavahs lute) is in her own separate category, and even further still is adam, the exorcists, and heaven in its' own space. i think adam and lute are truly the closest she's ever gotten to despising anything and anyone on a personal level that wasn't formless or a constructed idea; everything the exorcists are, what they stand for, etc. like these aren't simply soldiers anymore, she knows them by face, by name and not as absent figures.
vox.... on the other hand vox is significantly up there, and then slightly lower is velvette by association, i was going to say he only barely surpasses valentino --- who hasn't necessarily done anything TO /HER/ it's WHO he's hurting --- but that wouldn't be true; i think vox maxes out at the extent of her dislike bordering hate... it's perhaps the closest she'll get to genuinely hating someone that isn't, well, adam, lute or heaven. (and i actually think britt's @voxxation vox is a perfect example of that dislike tipping over into hatred, in the plot we have by charlie entering into a foolish deal with him to free angel; trapping her into a deal with disastrous consequences); and with everything that happens in canon, i do believe as far as s2 goes it settles back into dislike as opposed to complete hatred because that isn't an emotion charlie likes to settle in with. she doesn't like hating people without giving them a chance, it doesn't serve her.
i do turn over the thought of taking in vox later as a peace offering between heaven & hell and as a result of her own actions. i think she is a very forgiving person, but i don't think she's above resentment, and she tries very hard to operate under the forgive and forget mindset but she doesn't forget; she'll never forget.
none of this makes sense because im bouncing between thoughts in my head but TLDR; it's adam, (lute in a bubble), vox (also in a Separate Bubble), valentino, and velvette By Association.
