RADIO X PRESENTS: Catfish and the Bottlemen.

“We love writing songs and we love playing live shows. All we’ve really wanted to do is what we’re doing now.
When you’re obsessed with something and you love it like this, it just comes naturally. I always say it’s easier for me and the lads to write, play live and go onstage than it is to get to sleep at night” VAN MCCANN

To talk about life on tour and having your grandad see you play Wembley.
Listen as Van talks to Grimmy on BBC Radio show about life on tour and having his grand dad see them play at Wembley recently. How sweet is that!
it’s all about lifelong fans. Not fans that like this song or like that song or are coming because it’s cool or whatever, but lifelong fans. The ones who are going to be like all the way, you know. All the way there, just invested in your band know all the words and all that stuff. It’s all about just building life long fans.”
Van Mccann
Ladygunn Mag Interview 11.07.2016
LADYGUNN MAGAZINE. Published 11.07.2016
The four lads from Wales have built their stadium-level ambitions in the sky and now they’re proving that’s where they should be.
“So then, as much as they’re watching us play it live we’re kind of watching them play live because in our heads were like we wrote this bit to make them do this let’s see if they’re gonna do it and when it drops, and they do it you’re like that’s class, that’s a great feeling. Everything was written how long people are going to sing, how wide their arms are going to be, how their hips are going to move,” VAN MCCANN
“When we write it’s to add songs to the setlist to make the live show better and bigger and make people keep wanting to come. We’ve always been a live band, always wanted to be a big live band, play live all year to as many people as you can around the place.” VAN MCCANN
“I don’t think you should be able to put a cap on what you want to be. I just want to do this for as long as I can for as many as possible, so as big or as small as it gets or goes back down to as long as people are coming singing our songs, that’s enough for us.” VAN MCCANN

When Catfish came along I just immediately knew that’s what I wanted so I focused on that. I think you have to make that conscious decision that if you want it, you just have to be willing to drop everything for it and give it your all. I think that’s definitely been a part of the band. Even from the age of 16 everyone was just willing to sacrifice everything. - BOB HALL
