Dwarves! Give me the run down on all your dragon age dwarves! With your aeducan and brosca characters how did they react to being put in charge? Coming back to orzammar? As for cadash, how did they react with being the "herald" and what was their reactions to the trespasser dlc!

Actually, Maelin (my Aeducan) and Fina (my Brosca) are both Wardens in my personal canon and it was definitely a point of tension more than once, deciding who was in charge after Alistair made it clear he wasn’t interested in taking the lead. They’re both good leaders but in very different contexts and both have very different strengths, but during Origins it was mostly Maelin making the decisions because Fina eventually got sick of bickering with her. When Awakenings rolls around, it’s Fina who’s taken over because Maelin is too focused on finding her wife Morrigan.

Neither of them likes being back in Orzammar, Fina because she always hated it there for a number of reasons, and Maelin because she’s not used to being a pariah. Getting Orzammar settled was actually very nearly a breaking point for them because they couldn’t agree on who to put on the throne or what to do with the Anvil of the Void. Maelin supported Harrowmont because of everything that had happened around her exile, Fina supported Bhelen because of her sister and because she really wanted to believe that he’d make things better for the casteless. Maelin wanted to keep the Anvil because she grew up knowing how tenuous things actually were for Orzammar against the Darkspawn. Fina wanted the thing destroyed and forgotten because she knew as soon as people started getting forced into golemhood, the castless would be the first on the chopping block.

It was a difficult time, they were about ready to beat each other down by the end of it, despite the fact that they did manage to come to an agreement. (Bhelen on the throne, save the Anvil but deal with it if it ever came to be a problem.) It took years for them to get past it and honestly it’s still a sensitive subject a decade later, even if it did all eventually work out.

Maelin doesn’t take the title of Paragon and instead fights to have the shaperate restore her to the memories. Fina takes it up in a heartbeat, more for Rica’s sake than her own though, and on some level enjoys that she outranks the king and his sister. She also takes great pleasure in making the other dwarven nobles squirm, whether by insisting on the castless be allowed to track lineage at least on paper (for a number of reasons) or by marrying Zevran (who makes no secret of his past as an assassin) and declaring him a member of her house.

God I gotta work on their fic, it’s got a lot of great stuff planned and I haven’t been able to put words down in anything but asks in like 3 years.

Ursa... was not thrilled with any of the Herald nonsense, especially with the people (humans) around her not listening when she made it very clear that she didn’t give a sodding rip about Andrastianism, she was a firm believer in the Stone. It was all exhausting and way above her usual pay grade, but at least she ended up with the pretty ambassador.

Aaand even though we finally bought the inquisition dlc last year, I haven’t been able to force myself through any of it, much to my frustration. I might try again in the next month or so though.

After farming Zinogre I finally make his set and then I start fighting Azure Rathalos and holy shit. My first encounter was pretty decent so I think to myself “Hey! I’m gonna make his set too!” I try hunting him 3 more times and I fail each hunt. What the hell

So in the past couple of weeks I have...

Started working towards taking my driving test again (after staying off the road for about 3 years)

Started seriously learning piano again (after a hiatus of about 5 years since I last tried)

And committed to learning to cook again (after something like 7 years)

July is about to become the official 'Unfinished Business of Callum Davies' month.

If I rejoin the Cambridge Cats, get my Shadow of the Colossus tattoo, start going to another Judo Class and start working towards my gliding license again it'll be a complete set.

I just got to work and right after I clocked in they went ahead and gave me a break. Now I get to hang out at my work reading spot and chill for a bit. I'm just glad there's a breeze blowing.
