I'll be your Knight (Cathan x Reader)

Warnings: Near death, knight being a knight, fighting, wounds.

Cathan instantly draws you in and hides you behind his back. He keeps a close eye on the monster. He softly grasps your arm.

"Stay still, gardenia," Cathan says quietly as he observes the creature. Every action, every step. "On the count of three, run," Cathan instructs you.

"But-" You start, but he offers you a soft look. He smiles reassuringly.

"I'll be your knight," Cathan promises. You nod slowly as he returns his gaze to the beast. "1… 2…" Cathan murmurs as you begin to back up. "3!" Cathan beckons, and you dash for it. The beast can be seen charging at him, but he immediately stops it. As you run, you can hear the fighting. You eventually come to a halt and pant. The fighting can be heard, and Cathan walks over. You rush over because he was slightly injured.

"Cathan! Are you okay?" You inquire with a bit of panic in your voice. You grab his face, and he gradually takes your hand in his. He gives you a gentle grin and a gentle look.

"I am now, gardenia... Did I worry you?" You nod as he asks softly. He chuckles as you feel tears well up in your eyes. He kisses the inside of your hand tenderly. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to worry you…" He whispers, and you start to cry a little more. He cups your face and leans in closer.

"Don't do that again." You reprimand him, and he nods. As you begin to carry him back to an infirmary, you tighten your grip on him. As he nods and softly reassures you, you reprimand him more and more. He also offers you the occasional hand kiss.

"Hold on, gardenia, hold on!" Cathan laughs as you bring him in. He yanks you over and puts the scarf around your neck once more. As he does so, he draws you into a kiss before pulling away. "Alright, let's go." He allows you to lead him home. You eventually settle into the house.

"Whew!" Before you realize Cathan is offering you a gift, you say. You accept it as you cast a sidelong glance at him. But as you open it, you're pleasantly surprised to see a painting of yourself with gardenias surrounding you. There's also a necklace that has a gardenia wrapped around a heart and a mug that says "I'm pine-ing for you."

"Um… Do you like it…?" Cathan inquires cautiously. You give him a big smile and a firm hug.

"I absolutely adore them! Thank you very much! Did you paint it yourself?" You inquire as he blushes shyly.

"I wanted to make you feel special…" Cathan intertwines his fingers to yours. He leans in and kisses you. You give him a firm hug.
