The Rosiers
The four people were stiff and still like a family portrait. The two older people whom appeared to be the mother and father stood behind two children who were sitting. Each face was vaguely emotionless but there were hints of something across their features. The older sibling, the brother, sat tall and stiff but proud and protective at the same time. He was protective of his younger sister and he wanted to make his parents proud. The girl, the younger of the two siblings, sat completely stiff, slightly on the far side of her chair away from her family. The distance spoke words, showing what she thought about them. Did she love them? Or was she used to being pushed to the side and getting what she wanted? The family seemed to be well kept together but from the way the father’s hand was only on the back of the sons chair and no hand on the daughters showed favoritism. Maybe the well kept together family wasn’t that well kept but they put on the appearance to keep others from questioning.
