I always said this line was more about Haymitch than about Katniss and the new excerpt made me feel extra sure of it. He sees himself in Katniss, and he hates himself. Hates that he lost the people he cares about, and is mad Katniss seems to be going down the same road.

I saw a lot of people saying that Katniss will appear in the new Thg movie, I agree, but not in the way everyone thinks. I don't think Jennifer will appear. Imagine, the film is over, everyone is sitting around waiting for the credits to go up and Katniss's father appears in the forest, along with her singing Lucy's song or even The Hanging Tree, focusing on the little girl and the credits go up .

How about a Peeta x Reader (oc) fic where she belongs to the fourth district, with a deep connection to the ocean because she's a muto created specifically to explore what's outside of Panem (something goes wrong, lol).

She is the winner of one of the games (she would be around 19-22 years old) so, in order to save Annie, Mags and protect Finnick, she ends up offering herself as a tribute.
