Todays Reflection:
In our gospel today, Jesus speaks the truth that every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste and house will fall against house. This occurs clearly with the prophet Jeremiah who listened to God and embarked on a hopeless task. Because, no matter how much he spoke and warned those in Jerusalem those, who heard him would not listen. In the end, the divided house of Judah would fall, and it did in exile. Therefore, listening, as the Psalmist states, if today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts is important, even for us here today. When we hear the word of God, we ought to listen carefully so we may remain united and live in the light of God’s truth within a house that is sturdy and secure. This give to us hope of brighter future within the kingdom of God.

Reading Scripture is wild, it's like watching an abused spouse keep returning to the abuser, except God is the spouse being abused and the power imbalance is in His favor and is infinite. His people are unfaithful in the extreme. But he Keeps Going Back
Today’s Reflection
These three pillars of Lent: almsgiving, prayer and fasting are something Christians ought to do all the time, for they aid others and help us in our spiritually. Yet, for this to occur one must approach these pillars of faith through the right motive, a motive that come from within between God and ourselves and out of love, otherwise no growth will occur. However, although this is good, there is a caution given here by Jesus, for even if we follow what Jesus instructs us to do, but we do so for our own self-gratification; then we are not much better than the world. It is only when one humbles themselves and follow Jesus out of Love, that we receive a heavenly reward.
