High key photography is a style of photography that uses unusually bright lighting to reduce or completely blow out dark shadows in the image.

Final High Key Image

Low key photography is the art of lowering the exposure to create more shadows while creatively concealing and revealing details. Low key images are darkly lit and have high contrast.
