"Like a hen with one chick" but literally. She gets Extremely Mad any time we even look at it. White Hen has the rage of a raptor and the martial capability of a popsicle stick.
Garden time.
The Supervisor.
The Tabby Menace. Baxter is just. He's just relaxing, there, Marilla. Stop glaring.
The pole beans, which I assumed would die due to too much rain and chilliness, germinated yesterday! I was glad to see them. Now I need to get fence put up for them to climb. Without delay!
@ahedderick since you love the felines so much I thought you might appreciate my Singing Cat, Chanterelle. You don't see her in the video, but the melodious mewing is her. I have never heard a cat like her before.
Picture since she's not visible in the video.
Hi wisp! I moved with my anti-car cat 11 hours away so here's what worked!
- Medication: talk to your vet about the upcoming travel and what will work best for you cat. My vet gave us gabapentin as an option. She had to already take it for some OCD stuff so we had it for the trip. But, your vet will probably let you start giving them a small dose ahead of your trip so they can adjust.
-My cats don't really react to the feline spray so I would test that before taking your trip. There's all kinds of options at the pet store! We had the little air dispenser and I can't really tell if it made a difference.
- My cat despised the carrier when we got in the car so I ended up having to hold her and let her sleep on my lap the whole 11 hours. My husband drove us thankfully. I now have a much sturdier carrier that expands to give her space so she's done better with that. I had a car seat for her and she literally said fuck that to it lol.
- I had lots of treats with me and my cat really only liked her squeezey ones.
-there's going to be a lot of meowing so be prepared to hear the song of their people (that's what I call their weird growl/meow)
Extra:
The part that really scared me was when we got to our new home. Wherever you're going, find a room where your cat can acclimate to. I used a spare bedroom, but you can use a bathroom. Make sure they have stuff from your current place in there as well. They are probably going to hide in there for most of the day and not use the litter box or eat... it's so sad.
It took a day for our cat to eat. After two days she would come out to play if we were in there and by day three she was begging to be let out. So just know there may or may not be an adjustment period. Also, if pets lived there prior, it could extend the adjustment period.
I don't know if it helped but I slept in the same room as her during that time period so she would feel safe. I would also pull her out from her hiding spot to eat even if it was just a little. I know we're not supposed to but my baby needed to eat and drink.
Hope this helps and that you and your little fur baby have a smooth move 💕
Thank you so much Bunni! This helped so much :”) We’re definitely planning on keeping him in one room for a few days, although he doesn’t like to be contained (he hates his carrier, closed doors or confined spaces) so it’ll be interesting how he reacts
i got one of those self cleaning litter boxes a few months ago and while Yoohoo is pretty good at using it he does NOT like the sound the poop rake makes when it moves. now the thing about this litterbox is that it can detect movement and won’t activate itself until about ten minutes after the cat has vacated it. yoohoo has apparently figured out that if he makes a huge vaguely cat sized pile of litter right in the middle he can fool the litterbox into thinking it is still occupied and the poop rake will never activate. this is the third time i have had to destroy his carefully constructed poop decoy and i would officially like to trade in my cat for an otherwise identical but noticeably stupider one, incapable of pulling these ferris beuller shenanigans on me each morning
tearing up bc the sun was hitting bonito in the face while he was trying to nap and I noticed him shifting to cover his face, so I got up and lowered the blinds so that the sun wouldn't be in his eyes
and I came back and gave him a quick pet, but when I went to pull my hand away, he grabbed it gently with his paw and pulled it back in and gave me kisses, and then put his head in my hand and went back to sleep
and I'm FEELINGS that this tiny little baby KNOWS that I got up to lower the blinds for him and that he wanted to say thank you 🥺
