A Deeper Explanation of Catty Women and Girls
A Deeper Explanation of Catty Women and Girls
Not long ago, I created a post entitled “Catty Women and Girls.” In it I described these females, pointing out their toxic personalities, their attitudes, their tactics to bring other women down, and the sickening vibes they put out into the universe. A commenter on the post, Petrina, made the perfect point when she quoted in her comment: “…If a woman knows her worth, she won’t be like this. If a…

I really just don’t understand the whole catty bullying thing. What do you get from singling someone out, picking on them for dumb shit, and tearing them down?
Power? Congratulations. You’re better than being a vindictive dick than me. What a skill. Go put that on LinkedIn.
Abating envy? If you’re envious of me, I’m probably envious of you, too. And if it’s something I can teach you or share with you, just tell me and I will.
Revenge? For what? I can think of nothing that I did to warrant a sudden switch from being my friend to making my life miserable. And if you do have a problem with me, just tell me like an adult.
And honestly, this is terrible at any age but it truly has no place in anyone’s life outside of high school. There’s no reason for grown-ass women to tear each other down over petty things like this.
My happiness.
Men call women bitchy, and talk about how we are always competing with each other? But have you ever observed men, and their supposed ‘banter?’ Some of the savage shit that they say and do to each other? The entire thing is a pissing contest to see who can be alpha, masquerading as ‘humor.’ Some men actually really believe it is funny at this point - just part of being a man in our society. Boys will be boys and all that BS. But stripped down, it is about proving who is the more ‘manly,’ or who is superior as far as the social rules that they operate within and have set for themselves. Stupid stuff like other guys falsely claiming they are veterans at a game that you are actually a veteran at should not be this big affront, but it is because to the actual veteran, because he sees it as his opportunity to be superior being taken away. Men are totally catty, but they are catty about different things than women are. Men are just bad as if not worse than women, it seems, because their egos are extremely fragile.Feeling this pressing need to teach your fellow guy a thing or two about sports terms is extremely petty, and is not actually about teaching your fellow guy anything. it’s about schooling them, and letting them know that you are superior. Never seen anything more petty
I think when girls get all catty with one another someone might have a small problem with their own self esteem/confidence and then that also bruises the ego slightly if you say it to them. So the only thing I think you can do is build up their confidence, whatever they’re picking on you for, build up that part of them to themselves. It’s real comes down to comparing yourself to other’s and feeling inadequate but realizing we’re all moving at different speeds and wave lengths through life.
I have zero patience for women who frown upon other women who dont need the approval of men. Like ok I get it, your self worth is based on how much male attention you receive, but you can't expect for us all to be the same.
Drained by Drama
My latest big creative project at work was full of self-absorbed, selfish, catty individuals who seem to thrive on drama. These are adults I’ve been working with, both male and female, many of whom I’ve worked with previously, but for some reason, about 2/3 of the group seemed to be devolving into this chaotic mess. I managed to float above it and fortunately no one chose to direct the cattiness…
