Oh shit we’re live?
Nice start Penny…
[sound of Devon clearing his throat]
Welcome back to tales from the domes! Or today, it might as well be tales from the deep. We will be listening to an outside point of view of how the exodus from the domes affected Kamabo Co and the denizens of the deep! As you can hear, I’ve got Penny and Nico from @caughtinloveofficial
Hiii! Glad to be here
[sound of movement] Oh right I can’t wave- haha this is audio… Whoops
[all three laugh]
Is it ok if I ask some questions?
Yes.
Go ahead! It’s what we’re here for. [giggle]
Alright, now if each of you are comfortable, are you ok to share some of your background with growing up in the deep sea, and how or if Kamabo co affected your lives?
Yeah! I’ll-
[brief pause]
I’ll start on this one. So as many of you know I’m a vampling, which is why my tentacles have their glowing blue bands. I was always a quieter person and even as a childling I was a bit anxious. I can recall being told to avoid Kamabo employees and to limit use of the trains as much as possible. I even had family members who disappeared really suddenly after riding one of those trains. I’d occasionally see sanitized people around and then one day it felt like there was a huge boom in employees? It was…
Abrupt
Yeah. Though it was around the time Octolings were moving to the surface, which checks out. Oh and I frequently got to visit the surface as well, so that worked out. My family left to live on the surface not long after that, but I frequently took music gigs down there.
[pause]
Oh I guess it’s my turn! So much happened… where to begin? Well, I’m a Magnapinna inkling. Nico and I knew each other as kids but didn’t really grow close until we both were living on the surface. I would explore the trains sometimes, and while they were kinda cool sometimes, they were also sketchy. Oh and what was that little conductor named.
C.Q. Cumber?
Yes! That’s the little guy. Very dedicated to his job. [laugh] Ah if it was safe I’d want to visit him. I got into trouble several times down there though. A lot of creeps down there.
You can say that again
Yeah…
Kamabo Tylenol is NOT real Tylenol. It was stuff they gave to some of those test subjects to see if they would perform better. Before I knew it I was hooked to that stuff. Led to me having some major issues that I’ve uh… had a few slip ups that made it online! [nervous laughter] but I’m getting better. Where was I… oh yeah. Basically once the migration happened, those scary octo gals would be so rude to any inklings! My family and many others left around the same time as Nico’s. I still frequently went down there and even found a bar to work at since it fueled my addictions at the time. Though… not everything was bad. That was the place Nico and I first performed together.
Aww! Thats nice at least. Yeah… 2222 was kind of insane with making that stuff. Didn’t know people used it recreationally. Just shows how much Kamabo’s experiments and the octoling migration affected everyone down there. Now, I wasn’t allowed to interact with denizens of the deep, but I can still answer what I can. Is there anything you want to ask?
Oh shit-
Penelope!
-we’re asking questions now. Ok. Hmm…
Well… what exactly did happen once the metro took someone? Was it consistent or did it vary a lot?
Definitely varied. Some voluntarily became sanitized. Majority were put through partial sanitization to lose their memories so they would become test subjects. Majority would eventually become fully sanitized, but enough would reach the “promised land” which was… being blended alive. Then some would perish before they could even meet one of those fates. While some other hidden escapes happened, it wasn’t until 10008 who kind of changed everything.
Ah. Cant say I’m surprised, but thank you for at least confirming that.
Geez- that is insane. If it’s not too much, may I ask about 2222? You’ve mentioned her a few times.
I can’t promise I can answer everything, but I’ll explain what I can.
Was she like… the metros personal evil pharmacist? scientist? Doctor? Whatever she was.
She was a top scientist for experimenting on subjects outside of the physics tests. I was forced to be her assistant. She’s a lot of things, but not inherently evil? More of just… misguided into thinking she was doing good.
That makes sense. Sorry for the sensitive question dude.
I understand, you’ve been very honest and I want to be too. I’m glad you two came on here.
I’ve been thankful for this opportunity. I hope to see you around Splatsville.
Shell yeah!
That’s all we have for today! Thank you for joining us.
Bye!
